Extremely delighted to be invited to a beauty hi-tea with makeup maestro Sunny Sun organized by Watsons a couple of weeks ago. The event was held at the charming New Chapters by The Owls Café and it was such a beautiful place for scenic photographs. Upon, arriving we were ushered to our allocated seats and there’s a HUGE box of beauty goodies waiting for me.
After opening speech by Ms.Chui San from Watson’s Personal Care Stores Sdn Bhd. We are more than ready to learn some beauty tips from Sunny.
The beauty items we’re playing with are as follows:
- Physicians Formula booster blush
- Kate Powdery Mousse
- Bourjois City Radiance Foundation
- Bourjois City Radiance Concealer
- Maybelline Barbie Mascara
- Kate Designing eyebrow
- Kate forming edge eyeshadow
- Maybelline power black liners
- Peripera Ink Moist
Our session kick-start, with Sunny explaining the importance of foundation which helps to create a flawless canvas. By using, Bourjois City Radiance Concealer the first anti-pollution foundation with SPF30 PA+++ that offers anti-grey formula and gives off a radiant finishing. Love the silky and non-sticky texture. Just dab it lightly for the glowing look. I have major eye bag problems, thus was glad that Sunny follow up the next step with Bourjois City Radiance Concealer. This product offers 24 hours hydration and is formulated for the fine eye contour area. The texture is super creamy and easily blends into my skin. (Our model for that day was blogger Elana Khong)
On top of eye bag problems, my skin tends to shine easily as I have an oily T-Zone area. Here, Sunny uses Kate Powdery Mousse which upon application it’ll turn into powder and firmly adheres to the skin. Great to use for covering visible pores and helps to avoid shine and stickiness. Finishing preparing our face, it’s time for eyes. Kick started by using Kate forming edge eyeshadow. The palette trio consist of a highlight shade, a medium share and a dark colour. Absolutely perfect to highlight our eyes with its shimmery and pigmented colours.
As eyes are the window to our soul, eyebrows are super important. Using the Kate Designing eyebrow – a palette of powders with 3 different shades, Sunny demonstrated how we can use it for naturally shading for the eyebrow and nose bridge. A tip by Sunny, use the darkest colour to outline our brows and fill in our brow with a combination colour (medium & dark colour) starting from the middle portion of our brow to give a 3D effect. Also extend the darker colour towards our nose bridge to create an illusion of higher nose. The lightest colour can be used to highlight the arch of the eyebrow. Tip: Can be used for face shading as well.
To emphasize our eyes, Sunny uses Maybelline power black liner. This eyeliner is super black and really pigmented and is easily apply with its 0.05MM tip to create an intense black line. Of course, it’s also smudge-proof and waterproof as well.
Our eyes will not be complete without mascara, so for today we’re using the smudge-proof Maybelline Barbie Mascara that gives volume and extreme length for doll-like lashes. Firstly, curl our lashes before applying the mascara in a zig-zag movement. Sunny further shares that it’s not advisable to re-curl our lashes after applying mascara as the new formula has fibres which gives us the extra volume. (Here’s our model blogger Yukiko testing the product on the spot)
We’re almost done and the final touch up are the cheeks and lips area. For the cheek, Sunny uses Physicians Formula booster blush that gives a flawless radiance. The blusher is scented with floral notes that invigorate our mood and contains Euphoryl, a known anti-depressant which promotes happiness. Definitely, switching my current blusher to this.
Lastly, is our lips and we’re using Peripera Ink Moist which gives a vivid colour radiation. It absorbs really well without smudging and even after a few mouthful of food, the colour can still be seen on my lips. Wow kinda like a tattoo with its long-lasting effect.
