Last Sunday, was definitely an eye opener for me when I attended the Cosplay Party happening at Level 5 (next to GSC), Klang Parade. It was my first time attending a Cosplay event and I was surprised with the huge turn out crowd from teenagers, kids and adults alike to support the event. Many Cosplay Players were there to joined this party and competition and their costume totally rocks. The mall was alive with vibrancy as busy shoppers went around snapping pictures and posing with the Cosplay Players!
Organized by Klang Parade, this is the second year the Cosplay Party is held. The aim of the event is to create awareness to the public, bringing youthful Cosplay culture to diversified crowd in Klang Parade; as well as to promote the creativity and effort given by Cosplayers among the Malaysia Cosplay community.

The event kick start with introduction of the judges panel comprising of Mr.Marcus Loh, Ms.Venus Lim and Ms.Shine Ng . Next, was a catwalk performance by the participating Cosplay Players, where they introduced themselves and the character’s they’re portraying. The judges will be judging based on the below criteria:
- Costume – 40%
- Catwalk – 10%
- Creativity – 20%
- Performance – 30%
There’s a total of 35 Cosplay Players participating in this event. You can see the hard work they’ve put in to prepared themselves for this event from the costume, makeup and props used on that day. There’s also a performance session and I was impressed as some of the participants sang, dance, act and even play a musical instrument to mimic the anime characters they idolized.
While the judges are busy counting the scores, we were kept entertained with games and special performance by Alvin Lee.
It’s time to announce the winners and the list are as follows:

Champion goes to Roxas Tam and Wei Qi portraying Sora and Lingering Will from Kingdom Hearts. Their uniform was spectacularly designed and very detailed. Impressive sketching during the performance time managed to captured the judges’s hearts. They walked away with RM2,000 cash and prizes.

1st runner up goes to Muhammad Faris bin Eshamuddin who portrayed Mr. Satan from Dragon Ball. His performance was truly a memorable one and is simply hilarious. He walked away with RM1,000 cash and prizes.

2nd runner up belongs to Mohd Aizat Safwan who portrayed Uchiha Madara from Naruto. Got to give him extra credit for preparing multiple props that is often used by the character in the anime. He walked away with RM500 cash and prizes.

Apart from the the Top 3 winners, there were also 5 consolation prizes to be won and they walked away with RM100 cash and prizes.
Congratulations to all the winners! Hopefully, next year there will be more Cosplayers participating in this event and kudos to Klang parade for organizing such a fun activity.
