Restaurant Sky Palace specializes in exquisite fine dining Chinese Cuisine is a hidden gem located at the vibrant One City, USJ. Stepping into the restaurant one will be awed by the elegant European furnishings artfully placed. The restaurant is divided into 2 floors and houses two VVIP and seven VIP luxurious private dining rooms that comes equipped with karaoke entertainment facilities; offering privacy and comfort to their customers.
Helming the kitchen, is Executive Chef Chong Shi Ming who has more than 18 years of culinary experience in Cantonese, Fuzhou, Hakka and Guangxi cuisine.
Fruit Platter on Ice
A believer of eating healthily, Executive Chef Chong Shi Ming recommended us to kick start our dining experience with a platter of fresh Fruit on Ice. The platter burst with colors with sweet fruits such as dragonfruit, strawberries, grapes, and mango.
Lobster Dumpling in Seafood Soup
The fragrant broth made from lobster shell, is boiled for more than 4 hours. It’s set to warmth up our stomach. Dip the dumpling into the soup and take a bite, you’ll be licking your lips as its filled abundantly with crab meats and mushroom.
Deep-fried Pork Knuckle
Before looking at the dish, the fragrant aromatic herbs wafted in and we knew it’s the infamous port knuckle. A twist to this usual dish is it’s served with in a wrap crepe ‘like eating Peking Duck’ filled with lettuce and tomatoes. The crispiness of the deep friend port knuckle goes really well with savoury hoi sin sauce and sesame dressing
Pork Knuckle Mango Salad
Similar to ‘Kerabu’, this tangy salad is filled with thinly sliced port knuckle meat and is certainly appetizing.
Smoked Cod Fish
Succulent cod fish served with bonito flakes, mayonnaise and fish roes. I consider this a Japanese fusion dish and it’s delicious.
Braised Mustard Vegetable Stuffed with Prawn Paste in Cantonese Style
The delicate vegetable rose carving caught my attention and we found out that Executive Chef Chong Shi Ming is a master at food art carving. The greens are stuffed with succulent prawn and pork paste and every bite is addictive. Loved the presentation of the dish that reminds me boat floating amongst a pond of lilies except in this case it’s snow fungus.
Claypot Snow Crab Rice
The highlight of our dining experience is the claypot snow crab rice. Aromatic rice cooked in a claypot delivers a smoky scent and is served with a huge Alaska snow crab. Topped with a generous sprinkle of spring onions this pot of rice is definitely a ‘Must Try’!
