It’s not easy to look for fresh handmade pastas in Italian Restaurants and by holy I found one! Fratello Italiano Ristorante is a newly opened restaurant in Nexus Bangsar South which serves handmade pasta made fresh from scratch.
Fratello Italiano Ristorante stands out from the rest as they specialise in fresh, handmade pastas. Why fresh pastas? In Italy, fresh pastas are highly coveted for its silky texture and egg flavours plus it’s a healthier option as well. The pastas contain no artificial colouring or preservatives. You’re probably wondering, whereabout the colors of the pastas came from. It’s actually made from fresh ingredients such as beetroot, spinach, chilies and many more.
Another highlight of Fratello Italiano Ristorante is that you can find a varieties of wine and beers as well. One is definitely spoilt for choice here.

A light and fresh starter of roasted capsicum, grilled Halloumi cheese, Black Olives, Sundried tomatoes, Croutons and Mixed lettuce with Balsamic Vinaigrette .
In a platter, there are 3 choices served namely Sauteed Mushroom, Classic Tomato and Boursin Cheese on topped of toasted crispy bread. A tasty combination as each flavours are unique on its own.
A flavoursome creamy tomato essence soup with a hint of spiciness. It’s filled to brim with assorted seafood such as fresh prawns mussel, scallop and crabmeat. Every mouth is such a delight!
What a beautiful plate of trio colors fettuccine. Fresh and made from scratch, these al-dente handmade pastas is cooked in olive oil, garlic and herbs with mixed seafood in it. The pastas feature flavours made from spinach (green), beetroot (red) and yellow (egg), quite a healthy dish here!
You can also opt to try their homemade Squid Ink Fettuccine or Capelli ( Angel Hair Pasta ) with fresh prawns served Aglio Olio style.
For those who prefers creamier sauce, try the rustic cut herb pasta with fresh mushroom and tossed in truffle oil. This is a tad too salty for me.
There’s also the large handmade tube pasta stuffed with chicken and spinach. It is oven baked and is served in creamy tomato sauce and. This dish is available in vegetarian option as well.
Try the homemade pasta with chicken and mushroom stuffing served in either creamy garlic sauce or Pesto cream mint sauce with touch of sundried tomato.
Fans of pizza rejoiced, for Fratello Italiano Ristorante serves really good pizzas that with super thin crust. Available in 16 inches size, the serving is meant to for a family of more than 5 pax. The pizza comes with tomato sauce, mozzarella cheese, turkey ham, roast capsicum, mushrooms topped with egg and rocket leaf. One of my favourite dish of the day!
Juicy, succulent and tender imported lamb rack grilled to perfection and served with Herb Butter and Rosemary gravy.
As usual, one should always end their meals with desserts. Here you can try the bestseller, homemade classic dessert made with espresso soaked lady fingers between layers of cream. Plus factor, it does not contain any alcohol thus is suitable for kids as well.
