It was a fun outing with friends last weekend at Ohara Matsuri Event at Citta Mall. Wondering what’s Ohara Matsuri? it’s actually ‘Autumn Festival’ that originates from the land of the rising sun, Japan. During this festival, folks will dress up in their best yukata and kimono to head to the village and enjoy the numerous fun activities held.
We get to have a glimpse of how Autumn Festival is held in Japan as well participate in some of the fun activities at the Ohara Matsuri event. Our first pit stop is non other than the Yukata & Kimono rental area. After taking our pictures, we headed over to the printing booth station to print out picture and take it home. One can also make button badges on the spot.
How can any girl resist shopping for some beautiful handicraft accessories.
There were so many activities held for kids as well as adults. For kids, they can participate in the coloring contest or head over to the art & craft booth to learn origami. Now, fret not as the adults have their fair share of fun such as Kakigori Challenge where the participants have to chug in freezing cold Japanese Shaved Ice in a matter of minutes! It’s definitely a brain freezing moment 😀
Omg look at these ppl chugging in Japanese Shaved Ice in the #kakigori challenge at Ohara Matsuri event at Citta Mall🍧. . Other fun activities happening later: 🌟sushi rolling workshop 🌟udon challenge Drop by to win some awesome prizes home 😎 don't say I #bojio . #oharamatsuri #cittamall #brainfreeze #japaneseshavedice #competition #japanesefestival #lifestyle #LifestyleBlogger #rollwithcarol
At the event, we witness a momentous occasion as a special cheque presentation was held. This Christmas, the Tan Sri Tan Foundation together with Citta Mall is donating RM10,000.00 to Sunbeams Home bringing much needed joy to the children.
Our day didn’t end there as we continue shopping for Japanese goods such as RM5 products, toys, keychains and so much more. I also noticed a booth doing charity drive where Citta Mall patrons can donate any pre-loved items for sale like apparels, books, DVD and so much more. You can also purchase the items home as well.
Feeling famished, no worries as Ohara Matsuri event is filled with tons of delicious Japanese food and snacks.
There’s more of the Japanese food stall and we’re totally spoilt for choice.
I certainly had a fun filled day and hope next year the Ohara Matsuri event will be held again at Citta Mall. For more updates on events happening at Citta Mall, please visit Citta Mall’s Website or Facebook Page
