Introducing Garage 51 – Garage Messed Up Family Menu!

Garage 51 is not a stranger among the crowd in Sunway, being one of the most coveted café in that area. Every time, Garage 51 launches a new menu guests will come in throngs to taste their new offering. Thus, I was excited to review their latest menu –GARAGE MESSED UP FAMILY!

Heading there on a weekend before lunch hour, I was hoping to avoid the massive lunch crowd. To my amazement, Garage 51 was extremely crowded with people. As I chat with Kar Heng and Kar Wei (the dymanic duo brothers behind the very successful café), they shared ‘we always try to introduce new addition to our menu to keep things fresh for our crowd, apart from weekday the weekends are equally crowded as well’. No wonder, Garage 51 is voted by readers from Time Out KL as ‘Best Caféwinner back in 2014.

So, let’s have a look at our brunch menu from Garage Messed Up Family theme.

Firstly, we were served with Sourdough with Zucchini Fritters which has poached egg, beef salami, cream cheese, roasted cherry tomato and Enokitake Mushroom. I’ve never been a huge fan of zucchini but this totally changed my mind. The zucchini tasted like fried egg and paired it with a combination of cream cheese, beef salami and poached egg, just tasted so good.

Next, we had Messy Garage Pancake with Bacon served with fresh strawberries, ice cream, beef bacon, strawberry soil and maple syrup. The plate was colourfully decorated and the maple syrup is in a syringe (awfully cute). This also marks my first time trying pancake with beef bacon and I was not disappointed by this dish. There’s sweetness, sourness and saltiness mixed in this plate and each taste complement the other well.

Awesome Garage Breakfast 2.0 – RM26

Awesome Garage Breakfast 2.0 is an upgraded version from its previous menu.  In it, you’ll find poached egg, beef salami, jumbo sausage, zucchini fritters, enokitake mushroom and sourdough with fresh strawberries on peanut butter spread. I loved the sourdough with peanut butter spread for its creamy buttery nut taste. As the serving portion is huge, it can be shared with 2 pax.

We also ordered The Continental  which is a croissant served together with cream cheese, raspberry coulis, fresh strawberries, orange and peanut butter. This is one of the healthier dish you can find from Garage Messed up Family menu. Apart from that, we also tried Messy Garage Pancake with Nutella served with cream cheese, ice cream, popcorn, cinnamon soil and Nutella. Totally decadent with Nutella spread, every bite is simply sinful.

Spaghetti Aglio Olio with Smoked Salmon – RM23

My son is not a fan of pancakes, thus I ordered Spaghetti Aglio Olio with Smoked Salmon. The salmon was fresh and add in with a tad of spiciness mixed with wonderful smelling herbs, this dish rocks! Check out, my brother and his kids enjoying their meal with me.

Now, not only do we have new food to try, there are new drinks as well. Introducing, the Garage Messed up Family milkshakes. We have 4 variant of milkshakes aptly named the father, mother, daughter and son. Each is beautifully crafted and tasted uniquely flavoursome. I guaranteed you’ll go into sugar shock as some of the milkshakes has candies, jelly bean, biscuits, dried fruits and lots more as décor. The milkshakes are priced RM18.90 individually, my advise get your friends together & order all 4 drinks. Otherwise, you may not be able to decide which to go for.

We managed to polish all of the food and ended the meal with desserts Chocolate Cheese cake and Green Tea cheese cake, which are the recommended best seller in the house. I prefer the chocolate cheese cake for its creamy texture as for green tea cheese cake the taste is slightly too overpowering. I absolutely adored the Garage Messed Up Family menu, simply irresistible and this is one kind of messiness I can totally lived with.

  1. Definitely look like an interesting place to visit and check out…. the food also looks super tempting…

  2. Always wanted to check out the place but always decide not to cause of the sheer number of traffic that goes through that area. Parking is simply crazy unless I’m there tuning my car but that is also my car visiting the area and I don’t go near it until the tuner sends it back to me.

  3. Woah the crowd is so scary. The Sourdough with Zucchini Fritters looks amazing with all the lovely colours!! But I can’t imagine the zucchini tasting like fried eggs? LOL
