Finally, after a long absence, Isetan The Japan Store Kuala Lumpur reopens with a huge bang in October. Designed by Paul Noritaka Tange, president of TANGE ASSOCIATES, and Yasumichi Morita, president and representative director of GLAMOROUS co., ltd., ISETAN The Japan Store Kuala Lumpur departs from the traditional form of a department store by introducing a pavilion on each floor to make the entire floor resemble a Japanese circuit-style garden. This is a first of its kind concept for an overseas store.
In here, customers will get to experience the “real Japan” which allows customers to fully immerse in Japan’s history, culture, technology, diversity and even lifestyle designs. There are six floors in Isetan The Japan Store Kuala Lumpur which features high-quality products from Japan and its other regions. Customers can shop for more than 200 well known Japanese brands in the approx.11,000 square meter store.
Each floor conveys and presents different products. On GF Floor, its known as The Museum where one can explore the Japan’s rich diversity, including fashion, art and technology. Whilst 1st, 2nd and 3rd floor is fashion, home living, beauty and so forth. As for 4th Floor, is the dining area featuring 6 famous restaurant serving Japanese cuisines. Lastly is LG Floor, which is the marketplace.
This month, ISETAN The Japan Store Kuala Lumpur is also proud to present an art exhibit entitled “trans-kyoto photographs by Mika NINAGAWA,” which is displayed at 3F Cube_1. The art exhibit is inspired by the ancient capital of Kyoto and is available till 30th November 2016. I sure had fun checking out the new store and it looks like I’ve found myself a new place to hang out with the girls for afternoon tea.
