Purchasing a car is always a serious matter and one normally test drive the car before making such a huge decision. Today, I’m here to share my experience of driving the 10th Generation HONDA Civic which is available in 1.8s, 1.5 Turbocharged and 1.5 Turbocharged Premium Engines. Together with 15 bloggers, we embarked on a road trip heading to Carey Island. Many thanks to the HONDA Malaysia team for arranging this session! So, are you excited to find out my verdict? So guess who is going first behind the wheel? Yup, the gals voted for me *whee*

Sitting behind the wheels the first thing I noticed was the spacious leg room at the driver and passenger seats. Adjusting my seat is easy peasy for the all new HONDA Civic has electronic adjustable car seat. One unique thing is that new Civic is equipped with an auto car lock button on the passenger side, thus making it easier for the passenger to lock and unlock the car when the driver is away.

I loved the all new Civic “Advanced Interface” via its 7” Advanced Display Audio and it has a smartphone app build in as well. Just use a USB cable to connect your Iphone to the smartphone app to run your personalised music and google maps too. (Note: For android mobile phones, it’ll be introduced later on). Apart from that, the all new Civic also offers remote engine start, walk away auto lock, electric parking brake and auto brake hold.

Our first leg stop was at MAEPS where we had a thrilling gymkhana experience to test out the VSA (Vehicle Stability Assist). I was truly impressed with its stability during all the crazy stunts, take a look at my video. Apart from VSA, the all new HONDA Civic is also equipped with top class safety features such as 6 airbags, anti-locking breaking systems, electronic break distribution, break assist, hill start assist, emergency stop signal and ISOFIX.

After a quick lunch break, we headed for go-cart activity in Sepang. This round, I’m seated behind and get to enjoy the smooth ride with full blast air-conditioning. We had a mini race that day and it was exhilarating. During this activity, I realised the importance of VSA function as it helps to control your vehicle from skidding thus avoiding accidents on the road.

Finishing our race, we departed to Amverton Cove. The ride to Amverton is approximately 45 minutes, now this is when our ‘marshall’ ask us to ‘push the car speed limit’. Driving the 1.5 turbocharged engine, the acceleration from 0 km/h to 170km/h just pick up effortlessly. As the new HONDA Civic has a lower and wider body coupled with an aerodynamic exterior body design makes the car extremely stable even at this speed. One more thing, we all noticed that we couldn’t hear much of the engine sound as well. Why is that? It’s because all new Civic is fitted with light-weight sound proofing system thus reducing the noise and vibration.

Finally, we arrived at Amverton Cove and I just loved the beautiful resort that’s surrounded in greenery overlooking a huge golf course.

After dinner, we had a quick night cap checking out the LED headlight on the all new HONDA Civic. See how the new Civic LED headlights are much brighter and yet not glaring at all. Got to say the new CIVIC design is really sporty kinda like a sexy starship.

Next morning after breakfast, we had a “Comparison Competitor Car” session between new Civic with two other models. After looking at the specs and space of all the cars, we concluded that the 10th Generation HONDA Civic is a winner in the D-segment level in terms of spaciousness and comfort. The car is also fitted with high quality and soft padding finishing which fits its sleek, cool and premium personality.

Time to head home but before that we will stopped by at MIECC to visit the HONDA booth. On this round, our marshall ask use to try the ‘Cruise Control’ and it was pretty good. Arriving at the exhibition, we started checking out the latest technology from HONDA including of UNI-Cub, hybrid car and so much more. Of course, the all new Civic is also on display and the onlookers just couldn’t keep their eyes off it.

Here’s my final verdict after test driving this new Civic on the road. Overall, the all new 10th Generation HONDA Civic is a joy to drive in for its dynamic performance and excellent fuel economy specs. Being a mom, I definitely appreciate the spaciousness of the car especially the bonnet. Another thing I like is the mini hooks on the side of the passenger seat which allows us to hook our clothes.  There’s  also bigger storage compartments for us to fill in snacks and waters in front and behind as well. Lastly, with its sleek and sporty design, I feel extremely ‘cool’ to be seen with this car.
