With Chinese New Year around the corner, I’m definitely busy shopping to prepare for the yearly festival! One of the best neighbourhood mall that I loved to shop in is Main Place Mall. Together with blogger friends, we were invited to a special preview of the festive events!
We kick start with a scrumptious ‘Lou Sang’ luncheon at Absolute Thai Restaurant and joining us was the marketing department of Main Place Mall. Some of the food we enjoyed includes clear soup tom yam, pandan chicken, red ruby with sago and many more.
Finishing our luncheon, we proceed to head to the concourse area to check out the beautifully Chinese New Year décor. Let’s guess what’s the theme for this year? It’s Nyonya Rhapsody – A Reunion of Classical Charm’! Take a stroll down memory lane and create new memory with your loved ones amongst the classical decorations. There are plenty of activities awaiting you at Main Place Mall.
Treat your senses to all the splendors of Baba Nyonya culture this CNY as you reminisce and set your sights on the décor that epitomize the joyous and cultural ambiance as you stroll along the concourse. Feel free to shop for CNY goods too as there are tons of booth offering great deals!
To further heighten our excitement, an array of performances are lined up to entertain the crowds such as Chinese Diabolo, Chinese Mask Changing, Kids Cultural Dance, Peranakan Musical Show and 8 Majestic Drum.
Apart from that, Main Place Mall has also prepared a series of hands-on activities and workshops that is suited for all ages to channel their creativities with the aim of ensuring their shoppers get the full experience of entertainment and joy. These includes Lion Head Making Workshop, Chinese Mask Painting Workshop and Rock Painting Workshop. Besides, other exciting, fun and bonding on stage activities includes Kuih Eating Competition, Funny Face Challenge and The Silent Battle will also held from time to time.
Of course, there are contests too! Shoppers get to show us their creativity and bring home amazing prizes just by participating in the Chinese Calligraphy Contest and Chinese New Year Facebook Selfie Rewards. For high spenders, you should definitely joined the Chinese New Year Prosperous Spending Contest whereby you stand to win prizes weekly!
Chinese New Year is also a season of giving. As such, Main Place Mall has decided to bring joy and fortune to the underprivileged residence of Sri Sayang Welfare Home, a non-government organization that provides shelter and care for the aged and handicapped located in Taman Desa Kelisa, Ulu Yam Bharu. This home has 54 inmates ranging from 7 to 86 years old. They decorated the home with Chinese New Year decorations to lift up their spirits and arranged fun-filled activities which includes a hearty lunch, Tai Chi session and appearance of God of Fortune to distribute ang pao and mandarin oranges, It was definitely a fun and yet meaningful outing!
Oooh…one last thing to highlight is the gorgeous premium ang pao packets from Main Place Mall.
