A Birthday Staycation Le Meridien Petaling Jaya

It has now become a yearly tradition for us to plan a birthday staycation for my son — and this year, I surprised my elder boy with a 2D1N getaway at Le Meridien Petaling Jaya

This hotel makes a wonderful weekend escape with its infinity pool, rooftop bar, fitness centre, and more. Plus, it’s conveniently adjacent to Paradigm Mall, where you can shop, catch a movie, or even challenge yourself at the Escapade Room.

We arrived early for check-in and were greeted by the warm and friendly staff. In the lobby, you’ll spot Latitude 03 06, a cosy spot where guests can enjoy afternoon tea.

I booked a connected Executive Twin Room and Deluxe King Room. The Executive Twin Room was spacious, with a super comfortable fluffy bed, TV, working station, mini living room and full amenities. My favourite feature? The bathroom comes with a huge bathtub and double basins — no more fighting over sink space while getting ready! The Deluxe King Room was equally spacious with twin beds and similar amenities (minus the bathtub 😜).

As a sweet touch, the hotel also provided guests with Amazing Grace healthy snacks. Even better, they went the extra mile by decorating the room for my son’s birthday and preparing a delicious red velvet cake — he was over the moon!

After checking in, we headed to Latitude 03 06 for the Au Soleil Afternoon Tea. We indulged in savoury pastries, buttery scones, desserts, and chocolates, paired with Dilmah Tea and Illy Coffee. The kids were treated to a refreshing La Vier Mocktail. The two-storey windows filled the space with natural light, making it the perfect spot to relax.

Post-tea, it was time to hit the infinity pool and bask in the sunset. There’s also a smaller pool for younger kids to play too!

For dinner, we headed to PJ’s Bar & Grill for their Weekend Night BBQ Feast. It was a true indulgence — from mouth-watering steak and char-grilled lamb to fresh prawns. The highlight? Dining with 360° views of Petaling Jaya, vibing to live music, and creative cocktails/mocktails. Also a huge ‘thank you’ to the friendly staff, they staff surprised my son with a birthday cake and a cheerful song. Such a sweet gesture!

After a restful night, we enjoyed the breakfast buffet at Pasar Baru. The spread included everything from roti canai, nasi lemak, porridge, fresh pastries, omelettes, and more. I especially loved their freshly brewed teh tarik and café latte.

The kids couldn’t resist another dip in the pool, while I checked out the fitness centre. It’s well equipped and comes with nice extras of  fresh fruits, warm towels, and even cold towels in the mini-fridge to freshen yourself!
