Shizens held a beauty workshop in tandem with its brand new product launching of Shizens Glamouresque II Collection. I was stoked to be invited to attend this workshop by The Butterfly Project Malaysia to learn about skincare and makeup tips using Shizen’s products. If you’re not aware Shizens is famous for its Mascara with the Eye Charm and lip tatoo. During, the workshop we will have the opportunity to explore other different products range under Shizens.
After a quick introduction, we begin our session with skincare regime to end with a make up look for the day. Below are the range of products used on the day.
Started by using the Hydro Cleanser to remove all makeup and cleanse our face, followed by the Hydro Enhancing Lotion which serves as as a second cleanser to further cleanse our face for better absorption. The lotion is translucent in color and spread easily across our face with one swipe. All this are from the hydrating range and double works as anti-aging treatment as well. Whilst the pink bottles are meant for the younger or oily skin.
Next step, is to apply Hydra Quench, an intensely hydrating essence formulated to boost moisture level for all skin type especially dehydrated skin with soothing effect up to 24 hours. It’ll help to replenish, keep and lock-in moisture from the epidermis layer of our skin. Made from nourishing ingredients such as Sodium Hyaluronate and Gigawhite (7 natural plant extracts), it makes an effective hydrating essence with firming and brightening benefits.
The consultant explained the method to apply this on my skin. Firstly, massage it onto my face till its fully absorbed and followed by Hydro Liposome Essential and then top up with another layer of Hydra Quench.
Inside the Hydro Liposome Essential bottle , you’ll notice micro silvery white capsules filled to the brim. When you pumped it, the tiny micro capsules will burst to dispense the product. This product is formulated with multi-layer micro capsule encapsulating honey extracts and pearl extracts. Micro capsule penetrates deep into skin and unveil active ingredients layer by layer. Pearl extracts will help to improve our cell metabolism, stimulate the growth of collagen and rejuvenate our skin. While the honey extracts helps to reduce formation of fine lines, comes highly recommended by Shizen’s consultant.
Finishing this step, I then applied Hydro Fair a moisturiser that inhibits the tyrosinase and melanocyte activities to stop pigmentation process. Coenzyme Q10 and various botanical extracts work in synchronise to decrease the aging process and wrinkle formation. It preps our skin for moisturising and nutrition absorbing process. Apply a layer upon essence and during the night to apply a thicker layer.
Before moving onto make up session, I sprayed on the Ultimate Potent, the key product from Shizens as it promises instant lifting of the face. The application method is to pump 1 – 2 times and spray all over my face. Followed by massaging my face upwards till its fully absorbed. Give it about 1 minute and you’ll feel the lifting and tightening effect. Simply amazing that my skin looks more smooth and youthful after using this.
Now, my skin is fully prepped up, it’s time for make up session. Here are the key products used to recreate our look.
Kick start by using liquid Aqua Pore Perfection foundation cushion that’s packaged in a beautiful shiny gold case. This foundation perfectly cover the pores and gives a flawless and radiant finishing. Love the fact that it also doubles up as a treatment for our skin as it contains Vitamin A, E, F and also SPF protection. For extra coverage, Shizen consultants recommends us to try the Sheer Tint Foundation that’s formulated with a unique WOWtechnology (Water-in-Oil-in-Water). The water molecules are double coated to provide the skin with extra moisture and hydration. The best part it can last up to 8 hours without clogging the pores. Super fantastic!
Next, to redraw my eyebrows with Double Auto Eyebrow. It’s an unique oval shape stick featuring one end for application and the other a mascara brush to smooth my brows. Available in three different colours such as Black, Brown and Cappuccino Brown. I prefer the Cappuccino Brown as it defies my brows better. For eyeshadow, try the Hue Duo Eye Shadow that’s available in several shades such as Sepia Pink, Mocha Glow and Khaki Glitz. To emphasize the eyes, used the Dramatic Liquid Eyeliner in Black. It’s super thin and glides on easily for a smooth finishing.
To make our eyes pop, mascara is definitely a MUST! For Shizens to create volume and long lashes, one must use Shizens Mascara with the Eye Charm (it works in a pair). Firstly, apply the mascara that’s transparent, followed by as many coats of Eye Charm to create the volume you need.
If you take a closer look at the Eye Charm it’s actually fully fibre coating. The more coats you apply, the thicker and longer our eyelashes grow as the fibre helps to create the volume. The product is formulated with a blend of fiber and Panthenol (Pro-vitamin B5) that enhances the texture of lashes. After applying several coatings, it still does not clump and the effect is SUPER BARBIE DOLL lashes *wow*!
Here a consultant is applying for me and it does take some time to achieve the lashes that I want. Lastly, we finished our male up with Shizens Lip Tattoo which brings out the lips’ natural rosy tones. Upon application on the lips, the colour changes according to the individual’s pH and body temperature. It looks so natural and gives a rosy tint on my lips. One thing to highlight it works as a blusher as well, just dab lightly onto the face and wait for few seconds before applying another layer. As it does take a few seconds for the colour to adjust. You can also opt to top the lip tattoo with Shizen’s Lip Gloss or Lip Painter.
