Happy Meal Readers Programme- Reading and Bonding Moments!

Nowadays, purchasing a Happy Meal from McDonald’s doesn’t necessarily mean getting a toy only. We can now opt for hardback storybooks for our kids! Yeap…you heard me right and kudos to McDonald for initiating the habit of reading in the kids. McDonald’s has partnered with Cressida Cowell, world-renowned author of the bestselling ‘How to Train Your Dragon’ books. She has written an exclusive series of 12 hardback books for McDonald’s which you can’t find anywhere else.

Attending the launch of the Happy Meal Readers Programme, I learnt that McDonald’s will be releasing a book every month. We are given the option to choose a book or toy with every Happy Meal purchased.

Since they were young, I’ve started honing reading habits on both of my boys Kenwyn and Kenson. It’s really good and fun for it creates a unique bonding time for us. Today, I’m sharing our experience reading the books as well as exploring the digital versions of the books via the Happy Studio App.

As mentioned earlier, Cressida Cowell has written 12 exclusive books in total and every month a book will be release. The books series are entitled Treetop Twins Adventures and below is a quick introduction of the book and its main characters

Everything is digitalizing these days and McDonald sure knows how to keep the fun going. You can download the Happy Studio app via both Google Play Store and Apple Store. The kids were pretty excited to download the app, which feature various fun activities.

Access the Happy Studio app and select the digital versions of the books. Get the kids to read along to the story and see the illustrations come to life. Both had a fantastic time reading and was begging for more.

Kids Creativity Corner – Be A Musician, An Inventor, or just Play With The Digital Masks!

Apart from the reading the digital version of the book, there are other fun activities install in the Happy Studio App. My elder boy Kenwyn loved being ‘an inventor’ and was busy matching the blocks. Whilst, the younger boy Kenson was having fun being ‘a musician’. Did I also mention, there are cute digital mask available too? Just use the front camera and you can mirror those colorful mask onto your digital self. We were having such an amazing time with the app!

Bonding time with my kids are especially important as most of the time we are too busy with work.
