With the up-coming 61st Independence Day, Chef Loh of Zuan Yuan Chinese Restaurant is proud to present special dishes to celebrate the occasion. For the month of August, he has selected Double Boiled Soup as the highlight for the month. There are other delish dishes available as well such as Claypot Eggplant with Cuttle Fish, Chef’s Special Sweet and Sour Chicken with Diced Dragon Fruit, Doubled Boil Chicken Soup with Korean Black Garlic, Abalone and Sea Cucumber and many more.
Here are some of the sample specialties, I had that day during the food review:
Double Boiled Fish Bone Soup with Abalone, Monkey Head, Conpoy and Snow Lotus Seed
Started with this hearty bowl of soup which is boiled for several hours to achieve maximum extraction of flavor. The soup is sweet and delight, whilst the abalone is juicy too. Awesomely delicious and ultra-nourishing!
Jade Fish – Steamed with Crispy Carrot and Golden Garlic
Fish lovers, this dish is definitely a must order. The Jade Fish is perfectly steamed with generous topping of crispy carrot and golden brown garlic. Enjoy every bite of the silky soft texture combined with the yummy sauce.
Black Talapia – Deep Fried with Soy Sauce
For those who prefer fried fish, you can go for their Black Talapia where its deep fried to a crisp golden brown. The meat is juicy and tender and yet when bitten in the mouth the crunchy sensation will surely amazed you.
Crab Meat and Pine Nut Stuffed in Lettuce
An interesting choice which is similar to ‘popiah’ except the fillings are crab meats, creamy eggs and topped with pine nuts. Take a piece of the fresh lettuce, wrap it with the fillings, bet you’ll love every single bite.
Apart from these amazing dishes, you can enjoy delicacies like dim sum too. At Zuan Yuan, they served a variety of delish dim sum which are pork free too. Grab some siew mai, har kao, dumplings, cheong fan or more from their menu.
Steamed ”Siew Mai” with Japanese Baby Scallop
Steamed “Pheonix Eye” Dumpling with Prawn and Black Truffle
Deep Fried Prawn Roll with Century Egg and Oatmeal
‘Cheong Fun” with Goose Liver Chinese Breadstick ”Hong Kong” Style
I certainly had a fantastic time dining there and I bet you will do. Thanks to Pamela Yeoh for sharing her photos with me *muacks*
