Every year my family celebrated Mid-Autumn Festival at home, lighting up lanterns whilst enjoying a grand feast. This year, I’ve changed the tradition slightly by bringing my kids to celebrate and join in Mid-Autumn Festival at Desa Park City. The event was held last weekend (two days before the actual festival date) at Waterfront, Desa Park City.
This event was held as part of Desa Park City’s CSR program to encourage the community to foster stronger ties among one another. As such, the management has prepared ready-made lanterns, flower lotuses and free mooncakes to be distributed for FREE! Although the giveaway starts at 7pm, the que was already building up.
While waiting for the giveaway to start, some of the patrons enjoyed themselves at My Team (My FM Cruiser) booth. There were interactive games and mooncake given there too.
My kids were feeling a bit famish, hence we stopped by some of the food trucks to grab ourselves some light snacks. I also took the opportunity to walk around the weekend bazaar to shopped for beautiful clothes, fashion accessories and many more.
Both of my boys were so happy to redeem their lanterns 😀
After having our dinner, we headed over to the stage area to enjoyed some Q&A games. Winners will walk away with Tesco vouchers. Next, there was a mooncake eating competition where 10 participants were picked right among the crowd. Congrats to the Top 3 winners who walked away with RM150 Tesco vouchers.
Spotted many families bringing their own lanterns to join in the lantern walk. Since, the lantern walk hasn’t begun, the kids enjoyed themselves with bubble foams LOL…
On the pathway of the Lantern Walk, shoppers stopped by to admire and snap pictures of the beautifully lighted trees decorates with colorful lanterns.
While strolling thru the park, we enjoyed the gorgeous lake night view lighted by thousands of brightly lighted lanterns. At the edge of the lake, we stopped and release our flower lotus. Make our wishes and set the flower lotus alight and watched it float across the lake!
It was certainly a fun outing for the family. Check out the below video I made of the memorable Mid-Autumn Festival.
