Today, I’m headed to Black Market at St Mary Place located in the heart of Kuala Lumpur.

Stepping into this English classic restaurant, I was charmed by its rustic décor. Check out the keg shelve at the corner, doesn’t it reminds you of the early 1930’s Irish pub: D
Black Market at St Mary Place is well known for its ‘porky dishes’. Today, they will be serving us their signature Pork Ribs, pork shoulder and chicken chop that are infused with CONNORS’s Stout Porter.

First dish to arrive was the The Black CONNOR’S Pork Ribs served with salad. The ribs was tender and soft as it was marinated overnight in sous vide for 15 hours. Using CONNOR’S Stout Porter as the main sauce, the coating of the ribs is aromatic and sweet with a hint of robust flavors. It’s simply crisp, juicy and succulent to bite on. As for the salad tossed in signature house dressing is refreshingly tangy and citrusy, which complements the pork ribs extremely well. Definitely my favorite dish for the night.

Next dish, was the Signature Pork Shoulder served with signature house-made potato salad. The sauce is made from CONNOR’S Stour Porter by reducing it for 2 hours till it thickens and gives a wonderful sweet taste that’s aromatic as well. Pour a generous amount of the sauce on the pork shoulder and my palate was surprised with the burst of robust flavours. I also loved the creamy potato salad that perfectly balanced the taste of the CONNOR’S- infused meat and sauces.

Our last dish was the CONNOR’S Pan-fried Chicken served with home-made potato salad. A classic dish but after overnight marination and sous vide for 30 minutes added in with infused CONNOR’S Stout Porter brings a whole new level of taste to the dish. Loved the perfectly deep fried and crunchy meat that was tender and juicy as well.

I’ve got to say Black Market At St Mary Place certainly did a great job by selecting the most tender part of the meat that complements really well with infused CONNOR’S Stout Porter. The best way to enjoy these dishes is to have it together with a glass of balanced and creamy CONNOR’S Stout Porter.
