The X is located at the busy streets of Jalan Telawi 3, Bangsar. Finding parking might be a hassle so an easy solution is to use Grab Car which is offering a promotional code with The CONNOR’S Experience (refer to earlier paragraph for special code). The décor gives a modern contemporary vibe. I loved the secluded sofa area that’s so comfortable to sit and relax with a pint of CONNOR’S Stout Porter. There’s also an outdoor area for customer to chill as well. On special occasions, customers are also treated to DJ spinning in the house. Definitely a great place to catch up with friends here. Inspired by CONNOR’S Stout Porter smoky flavor, Chef Kevin Yeoh will be serving us 4 deliciously Japanese/Western infused-CONNOR’S dishes.
This pan-grilled dory fish dish wrapped in popiah skin is one flavourful crunchy wrap. The infused-CONNOR’S Stout Porter dipping sauce is the star of this dish for it brings out the robust undertone taste. Definitely one of the best popiah I’ve ever had.
A tender sirloin steak (150gm) cooked to medium rare perfection is simply tantalising. The steak is marinated with mustard to give it an extra layer crust of juiciness. Dipped it with infused-CONNOR’S Stout Porter and it elevates the smokiness flavor. On the side, it’s served with creamy mash potatoes which is drizzled with infused-CONNOR’S sauce as well. Loved this dish and highly recommends it.
The star dish of the night is this juicy and succulent lamb chops that’s perfectly grilled. It’s marinated with coriander and CONNOR’S Stout Porter for 30 minutes which brings out the undertone smoky flavors. Rosemary was also used in the sealing of the lamb as well. On the side, there’s the crunchy roasted potatoes that complements really well with the rack of lamb and roasted vegetables to perfectly balance the dish out. This dish got my palate asking for more and comes highly recommended.
A twist to this Classic Japanese dessert is to top it with CONNOR’s Stout Porter foam which elevates the sweetness of the pancakes. Truly scrumptious!
It was my first time trying out Japanese infused-CONNOR’s dishes and boy was I blown away by the amazing texture and flavors.
