A usual Sunday for me is heading to the gym, work it out and grab a hearty meal with my family. However, today was different as I planned to surprised my family by herding them to Underground Societe for a food review.
Underground Societe sounds like a place for secret meetings but I beg to differ its actually a sophisticated and edgy cafe created by the dynamic duo brothers Kar Wai & Kar Heng; the team behind the ever popular Garage 51, Bandar Sunway and Coffee Societe, Solaris Dutamas.
Upon arriving at the cafe, one can’t help but to stared at the colourful graffiti billboard against the bright skyline. Walking nearer to the main entrance, I noticed the simple but effective signboard that says ‘COMEJOIN US’!
The interior concept of Underground Societe, is a mixture of industrial and stylish look by using wood as the main focus . Apart from the usual square table’s seating, they’ve also got round tables and a L-shaped high counter top to cater to customer’s preferences.
Looking thru the menu, I was quite amazed with their wide variety choice of food, drinks and alcoholic beverages. We were recommended to try some of their most popular dishes and drinks.
For drinks, we ordered the below:

Bestseller Mochatella RM16.90 (coffee cubes + nutella + milk). Absolutely loved this, even my husband who doesn’t drink coffee is now a changed man.

In house blended a.k.a.The Societe Blend, its a medium-roast blend neither too bitter or strong. My sister likes it and quoted ‘I can drink this everyday’.

Made from ice cream, milk and espresso with a smoothie like texture, felt like I was having blended ice cream.
In town, not much cafe are child friendly, I’m glad that Underground Societe provides kids meals. Upon checking with the staff, today’s specialty was Fish & Chips. On top of that , I also ordered a Baby Cino and Iced chocolate for my son.
While enjoying our drinks, brunch was served. Firstly, we had the Grilled Slipper Lobster Benedict with Poached Egg & Foyot Sauce on Underground Bun. This is such a twist from the usual Benedict served in other cafes. Perfectly grilled lobster pairing with charcoal bun is delicious.

Next, Smoked Salmon Scramble on Sourdough; plated together colorfully its just a sight to behold. However, I would have preferred for the crust to be more toasted.

My husband ordered the 200g Grilled Atlantic Salmon with Asparagus, Roasted Pumpkin Broccoli, Beetroot, Sauteed Herb Potatoes & Foyot Sauce which is a good and healthy choice.

French Toast with Nutella- Just by looking at the colorful strawberries and blueberries adorning the plate its truly tantalizing. Top it up with a scoop of vanilla ice cream and that’s a perfect combo.
