Time really flies and in just a blink of an eye, we’ve hit the 6 months milestone of year 2023. My kids started counting down to the year-end school holiday as we have plans to travel. A highly suggested place to visit was Adelaide, follow me as I planned my family escapade to the beautiful city in South Australia.
Why Adelaide and not other locations? I heard amazing stories from friends who have visited which piqued my curiosity to bring my family. The first thing I did was to search, compare and book flight tickets from available airlines. After much research, we concluded that Singapore Airlines would be the best airline to fly to Adelaide. It’s a well-known fact, that Singapore Airlines has been consistently ranked as one of the best carriers in the world and have won numerous awards for their customer services. In terms of pricing, it’s fair and they have higher frequency of flights too.
Now, that we’ve chosen our airline, next is to work on a list of places to visit with the family.
Adelaide City
You may not be aware, but Adelaide is a country busting with culture, flavours, events, and entertainment. Here, you can dine at some of the best restaurants, sprawl out on sandy beaches (near to city) and take in the city vibes.

As a foodie who loved to explore different cultures, one of the places we are planning to visit must be Adelaide Central Market. This is a favourite spot amongst the locals with countless authentic eateries that showcase the flavours of South Australia. I can’t wait to try tasty cheese, fresh fruits, home made pastries and much more.

I would also love to visit the Botanic Garden with its beautifully landscaped gardens, majestic avenues and stunning architecture featuring some of Australia’s finest plant collections.

To experience the best of the city, booking a city tour on EcoCaddy Experiences would be great. The tour is hosted by true locals that live in Adelaide. Together we can explore the city’s diverse attractions, rich history and natural landscapes.

Last but not least, a trip to the beach is a must! We’re looking to explore Glenelg, as we can swim with dolphins or take a twilight cruise here.
Adelaide Hills
Adelaide Hills is located about 20 minutes from the city. This place is famous for its historical, fairy tale-worthy villages, beautiful scenery as well as offering some of the best produce in South Australia from food to wine.

One of the main attractions located in the Adelaide Hills is Cleland Wildlife Park. Apart from feeding kangaroos, this park is amongst a few in the world, that allows visitors to hold a koala! For food lovers, visiting Beerenberg Family Farm is a must. It’s one of Australia’s oldest family-owned jam, condiments, and sauce producers. You can pick your own strawberries at this farm!
My husband is an architecture fan. Hence, I planned to swing by Hahndorf, which is the oldest surviving Germanic settlement in Australia, founded in 1839. He will be thrilled by its rustic charms and hospitality.

Wow! I think I’ve got quite a good list of places to visit in Adelaide. We can’t wait to board with Singapore Airlines and head to our destination!
