Are you curious to find out what’s the Chinese New Year menu planned for this year? Well, I got first dips of the preview prepared by Chinese Chef Loh Weng Lam and his team. This year they’re proud to present 3 festive set menus (Happiness, Harmony & Longevity) to entice guests. My preview of the dishes are a mixtures of the various dishes picked from the 3 set menus. In other words, the ‘best of the best’ was served that day!
Fruit Yee Sang with Softshell Crabs
A fruity version ‘Yee Sang’ featuring deep fried crispy softshell crabs with light and tangy sauces to elevate the flavours. You can also opt for Yee Sang with Salmon and Crystal Pear, Yee Sang with Abalone and Crystal Pear, Yee Sang with Abalone, Salmon Skin and Crystal Pear. Braised Golden Pumpkin Soup with Sea Treasures
I loved this flavourful sweet pumpkin warm broth filled with generous portion of seafood such as prawns and scallops.
BBQ Roasted Chicken and Duck Platter Zuan Yuan’s Style
Can’t decide between duck or chicken? Problem solved by having both of it served together. We’ve got crisp and juicy duck meat and tender moist chicken meat. On the side, it’s served with yummy jelly fish too!
Spicy Wok Fried Sea White Prawn with Oat
An addictive dish is a plate of perfectly deep fried prawns topped with generous oat for that extra crunch.
Steamed Red Snapper Fish with Ginger Sauce topped with Crispy Shredded Ginger
Steam to perfection and topped with loads of shredded ginger submerged in a light and hint of spiciness sauce. Every bite is certainly heavenly!
Braised Slice Abalone, Mushroom and Green Garden
Enjoy juicy braised abalones served with mushroom and broccoli.
Claypot Rice with Fried Yam, Preserved Duck and Sausages
One of the best claypot rice I had in ages. This pork-free claypot rice version features waxed duck and sausages together with fragrant rice. The best is definitely the addition of cubed yam, pumpkin and salted egg yolks! Such a winning combination that I had more 2 bowls of it *burp*
Deep Fried “Nian Gao” with Sweet Potato
A classic dessert to have during Chinese New Year.
Sweetened Dried Longan with Six Treasure
Ending my meal with a sweet and healthy dessert.
