Boosting new interiors that features a contemporary Japanese design to put you at ease. If you would like privacy, there are rooms for private functions as well.

We kick start with the trio appetizer, Shirao Wasabi. The appetizer trio includes wasabi marinated white baits, fresh oyster in breaded crumbs that is deep friend to golden perfection; and savoury Japanese omelette wrapped around deep-fried eel. Light and flavoursome, this dish is a “MUST TRY”!

Appetizer: Shirao Wasabi (Wasabi-marinated White Baits), Kaki Tempura (Deep-fried Oyster), Unagi Tama (Deep-fried Eel in Japanese Omelette)

Seafood Salad
Genji – Seafood Salad (Fresh Seafood and Sashimi Salad with Goma Dressing)

For the health conscious try the Seafood Salad served with leafy green together with fresh salmon, tuna and prawns. The house-made goma dressing is served separately so that you may pour according to your liking. I definitely enjoyed the rich sesame aroma and freshness of the sashimi.

Premium Sashimi
Genji Premium Sashimi Moriawase Set (Assorted Sashimi Boat)

My all-time favourite sashimi served in one beautiful boat. I present to you the Premium Sashimi Moriawase Set which includes raw maguro (tuna), kanpachi, salmon, hotategai (Hokkaido scallop), tako (boiled octopus) and ikura. Dip with some wasabi and soy sauce is more than enough to enhance the natural flavours of each sashimi. A “MUST TRY” for its truly appetizing!

Dobin Mushi
A unique food presentation from Genji – Dobin Mushi

Next, is another one of my favourite Japanese dish – Dobin Mushi. I loved the way it was served in an elegant teapot and teacup. Squeeze in a dash of lime juice and it will transform the taste leaving your palate with a hint of sweetness and sourness combination. Absolutely delicious and tantalizing, this is also a “MUST TRY”!

Jumbo Ebi
Genji – Jumbo Ebi Ura Maki (Deep-fried Jumbo Tiger Prawn Roll)

After finishing our soup, we were served with Jumbo Ebi Ura Maki (Deep-Dried Jumbo Tiger Prawn Roll). The reversed roll with tiger prawn tempura is a signature house dish. Rolled into compact form with rice, fish roe, salad and cucumber.

Next, we were amazed with the Chef’s creativity as he presents a trio combination of sashimi salmon, tuna and sea bream, grilled tiger prawn on potato salad and salt-grilled cod on fried rice. It was a colourful and beautifully plated dish. The key highlight would be the sashimi which is lightly coated with wasabi and soy sauce to enhance its natural flavours. Definitely a “MUST TRY”!

Scallop Fried Rice
Genji – Scallop Fried Rice

The following rice dish is Scallop Fried Rice featuring crispy rice bits together with mouth-watering juicy scallops. Each bite is so scrumptious with distinctively tastes.

Desserts
Genji Combo (Green Tea Ice Cream Cake with Fresh Fruits and Hot Red Bean Soup)

We ended the evening with desserts – Genji Combo featuring a mixture of hot and cold plate. For hot dessert, we have the red bean soup with glutinous rice ball. As for cold dessert, we were served with freshly cut fruits and green tea ice cream cake. The sweetness level is just nice and I was hard pressed not to ask for seconds.
