After a stressful weekday, I decided to arranged a weekend family break. For this short staycation, I decided to take a break at Sofitel Kuala Lumpur Damansara– one of the latest 5-star hotels in KL, by Accor Hotels group. Sofitel Kuala Lumpur Damansara concept highlights art de vivre and contemporary luxe refined with local touch. This helps set the mood to create an exceptional stay, dining and wellness experience that celebrates the joy and pleasures of life.
The hotel makes a great place for a comfy stay for its located away from the hustle and bustle of KL city. If you’re worried about public transport, fret not for the nearest MRT Pusat Bandar Damansara station is just 10 minutes away.
At Sofitel Kuala Lumpur Damansara, each room is lavishly designed, well-equipped with modern amenities to ensure a pleasant, comfortable stay. There are 5 types of room & suites, namely Luxury Room, Luxury Club Floor Room, Junior Suite, Prestige Suite, and Opera Suite.
For me, I opted for Prestige Suite as it fits a family of 4 – 5 pax. (psst…I bring my helper along to let her enjoy the weekend stay with us)
Time to check-in the Prestige Suite! WOW! Sofitel Damansara even prepared welcome desserts and fruits! Feels so blessed!
The 60sqm one-bedroom suite is truly spacious and has plenty of room for both work and rest. Comes with a super comfy king-size Sofitel MyBed™.
There’s a separate living room with sleeper-sofa. The living room is so spacious that I can fit in an extra bed for my helper *wink* Plus factor, they have two plasma TV so there’s no need to fight for the remote.
Craving for coffee/ tea in your room? Fret not, there’s Nespresso coffee machine and tea-making facilities too!
OMG…luxury at its best! There’s Hermès shampoo, shower gel, conditioner and lotion!
After a tired day, take a salt bath in the tub to soothe and revived your body.
Exclusive Access to Club Millésime
By booking ourselves into the suite, we have exclusive access to Club Millesime at level 22 . This is the hotel’s club lounge that offers various exclusive privileges reserved for guests staying in Junior Suite, Prestige Suite and Opera Suite of Sofitel Hotel Kuala Lumpur Damansara.
Even our private check-in and checkout is done here. Club Millésime offers other benefits to members which includes all day coffee, tea, soft drinks; complimentary shoe shine polish service; complimentary local telephones in room (*landline only; excluding mobile number); complimentary pressing of 2 garments per stay; complimentary late check out until 4PM.
As we had time, I decided to try the Le Gouter, French afternoon tea from 2.30PM to 4.30PM. Relax myself with a fresh cuppa and let the kids enjoyed the sweet pastries.
In the evening, Club Millésime offers Apero Chic cocktail hours. Great to unwind with the selection of free-flow wine, beer and cocktails, along with canapes to nibble on. On the side there’s also cold cuts, sushi and cheese too!
So SPA Sofitel
The best part of my staycation is definitely the Spa pampering session. I’ve heard a lot about this award-winning spa in KL. Thus, I’m pretty stoked to be able to try it!
So SPA Sofitel Damansara Kuala Lumpur is famous for Hammams. What’s Hammams? It’s a traditional Turkish bath. At So Spa, there’s a variety of urban spa treatments available. In here, the worldwide ancient traditions meet the refinement and skill of French cosmetology to create a complete rejuvenation for mind, body and soul. Patrons can opt for body massage to facial, sauna steam, body polish and more.
We tried So Spa signature treatment – So Hammam Rituals. This treatment highlights the exquisite experience of the Maghreb traditional treatments. Our session started with sauna steam therapy, followed by skin cleansing and purifying with Savon Noir Beldi olive-rich black soap.
We continue with the therapist putting on Kassa Hammam Glove to gently exfoliates and removes dead skin cells. Finish with a luxurious body mask and bubble bath using soft cloth. Skin feels super smooth and soft like a baby! Lastly, head over to our private room for a full body massage to complete the journey.
I can seat in this captivating lounge forever and enjoy the different type of flower tea, nuts and dried fruits available.
Definitely had myself a brilliant pampering time as staffs are friendly and professional. Highly recommend this treatment to those who wants to relax and rejuvenate your body. Check out So Spa Sofitel Menu & Price List
Wan Chun Ting
Feeling famished, we headed to Wan Chun Ting for our dinner. Wan Chun Ting has four private dining rooms and an extensive fine dining menu that offers Cantonese and Imperial cuisine. The circular room with elegant round tables and whimsical chandelier set a comfortable vibe for the night.
Signature Peking Duck
We decided to order Wan Chun Ting’s Signature Peking Duck. It was a good choice!
The combination of crisp, fragrant skin with succulence tender meat, wrapped in rich sauce and fresh onions and supple pancakes was irresistible.
You can opt to have the dish served 2 ways. We opted for the duck meat in Sauteed Minced Duck & served in Iceberg Lettuce. Taste the sweetness of the meat with freshness of the lettuce.
To warm our tummy, we ordered Double Boiled Baby Abalone Soup with Chicken, Snow Fungus and Wolfberries. Natural sweetness of the ingredients just makes every spoonful a pleasure!
Wan Chun Ting Trio Combinations
Ordered this combo as appetizers which features Steamed scallop with Garlic, Wok Fried Stuffed Fish Roll with XO Sauce XO and Cheese Bean Curd Roll with Prawns. The scallop has a natural sweetness , whilst the fish comes with a tinge of spiciness and ends with a bean curd filled with generous fillings. Highly recommend this dish!
Braised Stuffed Sea Cucumber, Homemade Bean Curd with Shimeiji Mushroom
My kids enjoyed the flavorsome sauce and soft velvety smooth bean curd.
We opted to prepared this dish steamed Hong Kong Style. It was gorgeous, the fish was fresh and perfectly steamed. Each bite was a delight! Highly recommend this dish as well!
Fresh Water Prawns
Take a look at the fresh water prawns and you’ll start to salivate. Prepared steamed with minced garlic. The sweetness and saltiness of the sauce is simply enticing. Garlic makes the dish more fragrant and the prawns were just tender to bite!
Sauteed asparagus with scallop and garlic
Crunchy fresh asparagus stir fried with scallop and garlic is awesomely good as well.
Braised lamb rack
Imagine melt in the mouth braised lamb that carries a tinge of ginger spice. Topped with spring onions for the extra crunch. Truly fantastic!
Gui Ling Gao
End the night with chill Gui Ling Gao with honey.
So Fit Gym Room
Feeling full from my dinner, hit the gym for a quick run *wink*
Breakfast in Club Millésime
Time for breakfast…and where are we headed? Back to our favourite Club Millesime again. Here we ordered from the Ala-carte menu. We had Belgian Waffles and French Toast. There are other options available such as Granola Tower, Egg White Omelette, Nasi Goreng, Mee Goreng Mamak, Congee and Millesime Dim Sum.
Splash in the Pool
We just loved Sofitel Damansara instagrammable swimming pool. Kids had a fantastic time in the pool, whilst my husband basked away in the sun. Take a closer look and you’ll noticed my husband is actually enjoying the Jacuzzi built in the pool.
Cést La Vie Sunday Brunch, Kwee Zeen
At Kwee Zeen Sofitel, the restaurant emphasizes on Pan-Asian food incorporated with gastronomic French twist. There are two buffets that are worth checking out here – Oceana’ Flavours of the Sea that’s held every Friday night; and Cést La Vie Sunday Brunch available every Sunday.
