Indulge in delicious Chinese cuisine at the newly renovated Toh Yuen, Hilton Petaling Jaya

Step into the elegantly refurbish Chinese Restaurant, Toh Yuen at Hilton Petaling Jaya. Following  an extensive renovation that merges tradition with modern elegance. The refreshed space introduces a bright, contemporary atmosphere, creating a serene yet stylish setting ideal for both casual dining and special occasions. With a seating capacity of 150 and four private dining rooms, Toh Yuen is perfect for intimate weddings, private celebrations, and exclusive business gatherings.

At Toh Yuen, you can indulge in Chinese Cuisines via their curated menu featuring the finest Cantonese dishes. Some of their signature highlights include the famed Roasted Peking Silver Hill London Duck, priced at RM 168 nett for half and RM 268 nett for a whole bird. This luxurious dish, celebrated for its tender, succulent meat and crispy skin, is meticulously prepared and carved tableside, accompanied by delicate pancakes, fresh cucumber, spring onions, and rich hoisin sauce for an unforgettable experience. Guests can also elevate their meal by selecting a second cooking method for the duck, with choices such as Braised Shredded Duck with Ee Fu Noodle, Fried Rice with Preserved Olive and Diced Duck, or Wok-Fried Duck with Trio Peppercorn.

I was blessed to be given the opportunity to try their signature Roasted Peking Silver Hill London Duck, the skin is incredibly crispy and wrap  underneath is the juicy and tender duck meat. Served with hoisin sauce, the combination of textures and flavours create an indulgent dining experience. For the second cooking method for the duck, I opted for Braised Shredded Duck with Ee Fu noodles and it did not disappoint. The warmth of aromatic spices paired with perfectly cooked noodles, makes it a hearty meal.

Toh Yuen Restaurant is quite reputable for their Dim Sum and currently, running a special Dim Sum lunch set menu at RM99 nett per person. Some of the highlights include Dim Sum Trio Combination Platter with Steamed Premium Siew Mai with Crab Roe, Steamed Scallop and Spinach Dumpling, and Baked Chicken Tart with Abalone. The menu continues with Braised Crab Meat Broth served in a Mini Pumpkin, followed by Braised Spinach Bean Curd with Assorted Mushrooms, Fried Rice with Assorted Seafood and Truffle, and signature desserts like Steamed Matcha Bun with Salted Egg Yolk Lava and Double Boiled Red Date Soup with Longan and Peach Raisin.

If you preferred à la carte dishes, Toh Yuen’s signature offerings include Sweet and Sour Diced Chicken with Figs, Stir-Fried Wagyu Beef with Porcini Mushrooms and Trio of Peppercorn, and Golden Butter Prawns with Cashew Nuts, among many others. 

As a foodie, we indulge in a mix of the Dim Sum lunch set menu and à la carte dishes.  From the set menu, highly recommend the Dim Sum Trio Combination Platter with Steamed Premium Siew Mai with Crab Roe, Steamed Scallop and Spinach Dumpling features silky soft skin wrapped with juicy fresh ingredients. The Baked Chicken Tart with Abalone is a luxurious dish that features a flaky, buttery crust with tender pieces of chicken cook in savoury sauce. Lastly, the Braised Crab Meat Broth served in a Mini Pumpkin is a visually stunning and flavourful dish that showcases the sweetness of both the crab and the pumpkin. The  crab meat was tender and succulent and paired with sweet pumpkin flesh, makes it a delight to have!

For à la carte dishes, I tried Toh Yuen’s signature offerings such Sweet and Sour Diced Chicken with Figs. It’s a harmonious blend of  juicy chicken, luscious figs with zesty sauce, just simply too good to resist.  The Stir-fried Wagyu beef with porcini mushrooms and a trio of peppercorns is a luxurious and flavour-packed dish. The Wagyu Beef is stir-fried to perfection, maintaining its rich juiciness and flavours are elevated with nutty flavours from Porcini mushrooms and trio of peppercorns. Another hot favourite dish was the Golden Butter Prawns with Cashew Nuts. Its a combination of rich, buttery tender prawns with crunchiness of roasted cashews, I bet seafood lovers would love this!

Lastly, I must say kudos to the dessert, the fluffy flaked Egg Custard Pastry and Chilled Mango Puree with Sago & Pomelo, makes the perfect sweet ending to an incredible dining experience at Toh Yuen Restaurant.

Toh Yuen is open daily from 12.30 pm to 2.30 pm and 6:30 pm to 10:00 pm, reservations are highly recommended to enjoy this enhanced dining experience.
