I’m a huge fan of J.K. Rowling especially the Harry Potter series so you can imagine how excited I was upon learning that she’s producing Fantastis Beasts and Where To Find Them, a spin-off from the Harry Potter series. You might be wondering if this movie relates to Harry Potter. There are some mentions of certain characters from Harry Potter but rest assure that Fantastic Beasts and Where To Find Them has an unique story all of its own!
Movie Synopsis:
It’s the year of 1926, and magizoologist Newt Scamander (Eddie Redmayne) has just completed a global excursion to find and document an extraordinary array of magical creatures. Arriving in New York for a brief stopover, he might have come and gone without incident…were it not for a No-Maj (American for Muggle) named Jacob (Dan Fogler) , a misplaced magical case, and the escape of some of Newt’s fantastic beasts. Is he able to save the beasts and ensure the muggles do not discover the world of wizardry?
My Thoughts:
Fantastic Beasts and Where To Find Them opens with a sinister dark force destroying the city. Is this one of the magical creatures or is it something else? That’s the question that played on my mind.
Introducing magizoologist Newt Scamander (Eddie Redmayne) who’s in New York with a bag filled with extraordinary magical creatues. Unfortunate for him, one of his creature escaped and his action to captured the creature was witnessed by a No-Maj (American for Muggle) Jacob (Dan Fogler) and also an ex-Auror Tina (Katherine Waterston) who works for MACUSA (Magical Congress of the United States of America).
Detained by MACUSA he realizes his briefcase is missing and its with the muggle Jacob. Funny things starts to happen as Newt’s creatures escaped from the briefcase and wrecks havoc in New York city. Off he goes to find his missing creatures together with Jacon and Tina, which really was the journey of their lifetime. I had so much fun learning the names of the creatures and their origins, kinda like watching ‘Discovery Channel’ 😀
There’s also a sub plot in Fantastic Beasts and Where To Find Them. It involves anti-witches sentiments happening in the city coupled with an evil wizard looking to break all laws. As such, the wizards community are on their toes fighting to keep their existence from being discovered. Here’s Credence a quiet looking boy who is often punished by his adopted mother from the Second Salemers. He’s seen being chummy with Mr.Graves, an Auror from MACUSA. They’re tyring to locate a girl with immense power. But is the power to harness for good or evil?
The storyline gets viewers engaged from the start till the very end. We had our share of laughters, cheesy romantic moments and of course great visual effects. Here’s my Top 5 Reasons To Watch Fantastic Beasts and Where To Find Them!

Catch Fantastic Beasts and Where To Find Them in cinemas on 17th November 2016 nationwide tomorrow! You betcha I’m going to watch this again with my family :D! Till then, keep a lookout for my next movie review.
