I received the opportunity to catch Impression Series • Encore Melaka. A mesmerizing performance with a series of touching life stories of the locals. It is not any cultural performance for tourists, it is a performance that reflects a society that embraces diversity and inclusiveness.
The show is approximately 70-min, audience would go through the 6 centuries of history literally crossing through time and space. What you would bring back is not merely the story of a rich historical place but an intellectual reflection of the true essence of Melaka – a good model of multicultural coexistence. Be prepared for the mesmerizing visual and auditory experience.
From the start of the show, I was caught in awe. The Impression Series • Encore Melaka features 200 local performers showing the inclusiveness of Melaka expressed through the blend of traditional and contemporary dance. Their graceful moves couples with the astounding projection mapping, intricate theater props and carefully chosen costumes makes Encore Melaka an unforgettable theater experience! Did I also mentioned, the theater features a 360-degree rotating auditorium with multiple-stage? Each scene is so vivid thanks to the combination of audio and lighting, those forgotten scenes just comes to life. I felt like I was part of the show than merely an audience. I was truly captivated by it.
