With the current hot and hazy weather, sitting in mamaks or hawker stalls are no longer an option. Imagine, my surprise when I received an invitation for a food review at Furama Bukit Bintang to try their latest super saver set for lunch and dinner at only RM19.90 nett! At such a fantastic and affordable price, I decided to sample the fares together with a foodie friend.
Upon, arriving at Spices (Furama, Level 3) we were greeted warmly by the friendly staff and were amazed with the varieties for super savers set meal selection. There are 8 choices of main dish including fish & chips, spaghetti marinara, club sandwich, chicken bolognaise, fried rice, chicken rice, chicken chop and Cantonese noodles. The set comes with appetizer, soup of the day, dessert and free flow ice lemon tea. I ordered fish & chip, whilst my friend ordered spaghetti marinara as main dish. Our drinks for the day was hot lemon tea.
Next was salad as appetizer – fresh vegetables with cherry tomatoes served with fried chicken slices and mayonnaise sauce. (Special note: Normally, the salad does not come with chicken slices).
Soup of the day – Mushroom soup with garlic bread. The soup was a bit bland for my taste. (Note: Soup rotates on daily basis)
Here, comes our main dish:
My main dish was Fish & Chips with fries and coleslaw served together with tartar sauce and lemon. The fish battered was crisp and I liked it. While my friend, enjoyed her Spaghetti Marinara which is served with generous mozzarella cheese and a slice of garlic bread.
To end our meal, we had Dessert and were given the Red Velvet Cake garnish with a strawberry slice and it tasted good. Overall, the food served was average but with a price of RM19.90 it’s worthwhile to give it a try! Not to mentioned, food is served in air-conditioning environment with great service from the friendly staff. The super saver set meal is available during lunch from 12pm – 2.30pm and dinner at 6.30pm – 10.30pm. Promotion ends December 2015.
