If you’re looking to have a porky feast with great beers or the best steak to pair with a glass of wine, look no farther and head to the The BAR°N. Opening its third outlet, you may now find The BAR°N at Pavilion KL which offers a classy and cosy ambience to cater to busy executives to destress, network or to socialise. I just loved the rustic decor!
One thing to look out for is their long bar which might possibly be the longest bar in Malaysia at the length of an adult sperm whale at 17.5m long. (Even my camera can’t capture the entire length)

Being a beef lover, I’ve tried many steaks in town but have yet to come across ‘Tomahawk Steak’. So what exactly is a Tomahawk Steak? Tomahawk is derived from the native Algonquian words ‘tamahak’ or ‘tamahakan’ which means cutting instrument .Imported from Australia, each Tomahawk weighs between 850g and 1000g – dependent on the cut and is priced at RM288++.
Tomahawk steaks utilise cuts from the fore-rib of cows, keeping the entire length of bone intact to produce its signature hatchet shape. A large quantity of inter-muscular fat marbles the premium cut, melting to give it a silky texture and a symphony of flavour’s. The infusion of juices from the bone into the meat elevates the depth of flavours, whilst maintaining a juicy and tender interior. Making it smackingly succulent to chew on.

Glistening moist and tender pork belly with crisp crackling skin is just perfect to be served together with a glass of beer or wine.
Both of these two starters top my favourite dish for the day. Try the savoury crisp and deep friend Candy Bacon Platter that’s filled with smoky robust flavours that got my palate craving for more. If you prefer something light or on a diet, the perfectly tender Oven-Baked Portobello Mushroom with chessy toppings, tangy diced tomatoes and rocket leave will definitely satisfy your cravings.
Perfectly seasoned ribs and slow baked to perfection, the final touch to this dish is to torch it 😛
Torch it with a blow torch and you’ll get glistening caramelized tender pork ribs that’s extremely juicy and just falls apart on it its own.
BBQ pork ribs with a hint of robust coffee flavours served with corn cobs, fresh greens and fried potatoes . It’s a tad too bland for me.
The BAR°N is definitely a place to revisit again as they do come out with really interesting dishes. Today, I had a blast with a my foodie kakis enjoying the porky feast and splendid steak pair with Luis Felipe Edwards Pinot Noir, Chile.
