Every year, I actively participate in activities during Breast Cancer month, however I’m ashamed to admit that I do not regularly checked my breast’s health. This year, something sad happen to me as I lose a very dear friend to breast cancer. Thus, this year I vowed to check myself regularly and the first breast cancer awareness activity that I joined was the Xixili’s ‘STAND UP FOR PINK’ campaign which was held last Saturday at Mid Valley.

Marking its 11th year in running the breast cancer awareness campaign, Xixili as a lingerie brand endeavour to remind Malaysian women to take charge on their breast health and be breast aware through their monthly Breast Self-Examination (BSE) and yearly Clinical Breast Examination (CBE). All funds raised during the event will also be donated to Xixili’s NGO partner, Breast Cancer Welfare Association.
There are a few on-ground activities that we can participate in on that day such as:
- Breast health consultations & Clinical Breast Examination (CBE) by the certified nurses of the BCWA Team
- Public donation and fundraising through sales of pink merchandise by BCWA
- An interactive Pink Pledge
- Pink Ribbon Visual Art Display
- Mount and pose on Harley Davidson “Pink” Bikes
- Kiss and Pledge Lip Services by Shu Uemura
- Charity Dry Hair Cuts by Number76
- Wheel of Hope with prize giveaways
During the event, we had the honours to do a celebratory ‘Pink Walk parade’ together with breast cancer survivors and other supporters.

Thanks to the support of the amazing partners who contributed in this event such as Dunkin Donuts, Harley Davidson, Juice Works, Number76 & Shu Uemura for creating such a fun, educational and interactive experience on breast cancer awareness for us.

I certainly learn some new stuff as well as refreshed my memory on conducting BSE at home on that day. It was certainly a wonderful experience for me and thanks Xixili for inviting me 😀 . For more information on BSE, check out the Xixili’s Website or Breast Cancer Welfare Association (BCWA) website.
