Eating dim sum on a weekend is a great bonding with my family. Imagine my excitement when I found out Tai Zi Heen, Pullman KLCC is offering All You Can Eat Dim Sum. Before making a booking with my family, I decided to head there with several friends to try out their dim sum. *my family are picky eaters :P*
Upon arriving, we were presented with the menu list. There’s an astounding 45 dim sum for us to select ranging from steamed, baked, fried, rice rolls, desserts and lots more. After several minutes of debating, here are some of the scrumptious dim sum we ordered for sharing.
First to arrived on our table, is the gorgeous Chicken & Shrimp Dumplings Filled With Mushrooms (Siew Mai). Just a gentle reminder Tai Zi Heen, Pullman KLCC is a halal restaurant. However, saying that got to salute the chef as this dish still carries a touch of traditional ‘porky’ taste which is absolutely fantastic to bite on.
Another must have during every dim sum is the Crystal Dumplings filled with dried sole (Har Gao). The dumplings skin is smooth and translucent. Inside is filled with fresh and juicy shrimps that tasted mighty fine.
I love a little spiciness in my dim sum and tried the Shrimp and Chicken Dumplings with Szechuan Soy Chili Dressing that certainly whet my appetite.
The Steamed bamboo charcoal buns with salted egg yolk custard is a definite ‘Must Try’ at Tai Zi Heen, Pullman KLCC. Soft and fluffy charcoal buns filled with luscious oozing creamy salted egg yolk custard got my palate yearning for more.
To warmth my stomach, I ordered the Pearl Grouper Rolls In Lobster Sauce. The rich broth is made from lobster shell and is one of the premium items available in the menu. Sweet and rich in flavour, this soup comes highly recommended.
After filling my stomach with steamed dim sum, next on our list is the fried items. Here, we ordered the Deep Fried Crispy Yam Puffs with BBQ Chicken and mushrooms, Crispy Kataifi Wrapped Prawn Rolls and Deep Fried Bean Curd Rolls with Cheddar Cheese & Shrimp. Out of these 3 items, my favourite would be Deep Fried Bean Curd Rolls with Cheddar Cheese & Shrimp that’s filled with oozing melted cheddar cheese and plump juicy shrimps.
A ‘Must Try’ is the Fragrant Oven Baked Mini Egg Custard Tarts that is served pipping hot from the oven. Fluffy with crisp edges and milky custard, it was devour in seconds. This item takes 20 minutes to baked, thus do order in advance to avoid waiting.
For desserts, one can opt for either hot or cold plates. I loved the chilly Wolfberry Osmanthus Jelly that’s not too sweet and the Red Bean Paste with lotus seeds is one of my favourites too. *Blame it on my sweet tooth*
