Bio-oil recently hosted a beauty and confidence workshop at Roost Café, Bangsar. On an easy breezy afternoon, I gathered together with other invited media to discuss, learn and share about what it means to ‘Be Skin Confident’.What does skin confidence means? It means having the self-confidence to be comfortable in your own skin by understanding your own uniqueness. Many of us who attended the event have been exposed to scars or stretch marks from cuts, acne, post-operation, burns, pregnancy, or rapid weight gain/loss. If these imperfections are highly visible it can lead to a lack of self-confidence which will affect our lives.
An introduction was made by, Product Manager, Stephanie Ng, about Bio-Oil’s multi-purpose properties, and why the product has won 224 awards globally since its launch in 2002.
She shared that on average, a person will have three scars on their bodies; which is a common occurrence. Studies have also shown that 65% of women are more conscious of their scars comparing to the men. In a survey among 7,000 women, stretch marks rank as number 8 in the top 10 body concerns. The unsightliness of stretch marks can make our confidence plummet, and this is where Bio-Oil can help alleviate your concerns.
Bio-Oil contains the breakthrough ingredient PurCellin OilTM which ensures that the active ingredients are rapidly absorbed into the skin, without leaving an oily residue. The formulation also includes vitamins A & E, and natural plant oils – Lavender, Calendula, Rosemary and Chamomile. The benefits of Bio-Oil are as follows:
- Treating a number of skin conditions such as dehydrated, ageing skin and uneven skin tone.
- Helps to reduce scar’s appearance and colour.
- Helps to reduce the possibility of stretch marks forming during pregnancy, teenage growth spurts and periods of rapid weight gain
- Helps to improve the appearance of existing stretch marks.
During the session, we had several attendees sharing their journey of using Bio-Oil. Beauty blogger Illy Ariffin shared how she used Bio-Oil to treat stretch marks on her body. Writer Marissa Hakim on the other hand, experienced skin imperfections when she was a teenager and active in gymnastics. Blogger Corrine also shared that she uses it for dry and ageing skin, and even uses it with her moisturiser before applying makeup to get a better ‘glow’.
I also shared my experiences of being a Bio-Oil user during my 1st and 2nd pregnancy. In fact, I still used the product up till now to help reduce my stretch marks problem. Sometimes, I apply it on my child as I loved the smell of it.
Finally, it was time for a special session with R. Yogash, a renowned stylist, makeup artist and talent coach for the Miss Universe Malaysia Organisation, who was there to offer some tips and advice on being confident. We ended the event on a high note as we embraced our newfound sense of confidence.
The PM is pretty! Intro to me please! 🙂
