Rejoice ‘pork’ lovers for I’ve finally found a place that serves totally ‘porky’ food and definitely non-halal café. Coffee Ink is not a stranger among us Klangnites since its opening 2 years ago. Owned by Mr. Zabedee Chiang, who is known as Zab to his customers, the café serves as a place for art lovers to indulge in beautiful art paintings whilst enjoying the ‘porky’ food.
I’m quite surprised that Zab has decided to opt for non-halal food for Coffee Ink and he shares ‘I’m an avid bacon eater and since I can’t mastered all the dishes we serve in Coffee Ink, let’s concentrate on one item that we will surely do well. Thus, the idea to served ‘bacon‘ as the main ingredient in our menu was born’. Apart from that, Zab is also an ardent painter and you’ll find many of his work within the café. If a patron is interested in purchasing the paintings, they can always inquire at the counter.
Now, let my gastronomy ‘porky’ journey begin. My drinks selection for that evening are Belgian, Hibiscus Hana, Melbourne Breakfast and Flat White . A ‘MUST TRY’ is Belgian, this is Coffee Ink signature drink. Melted Belgian dark chocolate, frothed with milk and topped with chocolate shavings. You can opt to have it either cold or hot as both are equally delicious. Such decadence in this drink that I barely managed to hold back from ordering another cup.
Melbourne Breakfast is a ‘MUST TRY’ as well. A cup of warming tea with a touch of vanilla. I loved the vanilla taste with a lingering sweetness in it. Flat White – a mix of Arabica and robusta beans (in house blend) and is served with Australian Farm House Milk. Another tea that I’ve ordered is Hibiscus Hana – an aromatic flower infused tea with a sour note taste. This drink might not be suitable for all as it varies according to your own preferences.

Along with drinks, we ordered their snacks ‘Luncheon Fries’and ‘Bacon Rolls’. Both snacks are smackingly delicious- who would have thought luncheon meat as fries can taste that good. Although slightly salty but I still loved it. For food, I’ve ordered the Bacon & Mushroom Carbonara, Stuffed Chicken Bomb, Grilled Chicken Salad and Bacon Sandwich.
Bacon & Mushroom Carbonara is a fettucine dish topped with bacon and mushroom in rich creamy homemade sauce. My son who is eating fettucine for the first time managed to polish ½ bowl of it.
Stuffed Chicken Bomb is bacon wrapped chicken breast with cheese and spinach stuffing. It is served with mashed potatoes and fresh sautéed greens on the side. This is definitely a ‘MUST TRY’ with its perfectly grilled bacon, each bite revels a taste of saltiness and sweetness combo that is totally hard to resist.

Grilled Chicken Salad is a good healthy choice for those who are watching their weight. Served with grilled chicken, hard boiled eggs, fresh vegetables, cherry tomatoes and garnished with crispy toasts. The mayonnaise sauce is their own secret recipe and this salad can be shared by 2 pax as the serving portion is quite big. I would definitely recommend this as well.

Bacon Sandwich with smoked baked bacon lined with fresh lettuce in buttered buns. A great tasty sandwich that can be shared as well. We ended our meal with desserts and was recommended to try Mudpie and Lemon Poppy Seed. Mudpie is good for its soft creamy chocolate and every bite is so sinfully delicious. However, I preferred Lemon Poppy Seed for its zesty lemon topping. We had another surprise when Zab gave us an Affogato on the house, which is so sweet of him. This Italian dessert consisting of vanilla ice cream topped with a shot of espresso coffee was really good. The bitter espresso perfectly complementing the sweet ice cream leaves a strong after taste punch.
If you have never been to Coffee Ink, you should give their ‘porky’ menu a try. The food quality is good with reasonable pricing as there’s no GST or service charge. A great place to chillax and indulge in great food for art lovers.
