It’s been quite some time since I had a healthy meal since the usual fare for me would be just the mamak or hawker stalls nearby my office. However, I was given an opportunity to try out Simple Life restaurant with a couple of friends. What’s Simple Life? It’s a unique vegetarian restaurant offering fusion flavours dishes with healthy outlook.
Simple Life apply the concept of NO MSG, No Transfat, No Coloring, No Preservative and is totally healthy and organic in their food. For example, all of their food is prepared using the below:
- Organic and pesticide-free
- Using brown sugar instead of refined sugar
- Cooking with extra virgin coconut oil
- Recommending brown rice/noodles/vermicelli
- Natural seasoning & alkaline water
Now, let me share with you the yummylicious vegetarian food that was served on that day. We started with drinks and was highly recommended to try their signature tea & juices. Thus, we ordered Fresh Mixed Fruit Tea, Natural Antioxidant Juice & Healthy Juice. The juices tasted so good and we were surprised as its solely pure juice without using additional water.

Next, snacks & salads were served and we were totally spoilt for choice. For snacks, we had the Fried Organic Beancurd, Seaweed Roll & Deep Fried Lion’s Mane Mushroom as for salads it was their signature Mango Salad & Mixed Fruit Rojak.
Deep Fried Lion’s Mane Mushroom – Tasted like chicken

Served with 2 sauce dips which are Mango Sauce and lemon salad sauce. The sweetness and sourness of the sauces is really appetizing.

After appetizers, main course was next. Again, we ordered Simple Life Signature dishes such as Organic Lei Cha, “Kong Poh” Lion Mane Mushroom, Multi Grain Rice Nasi Lemak with organic coconut oil & Nyonya Laksa with brown rice mee hoon.

Organic Lei Cha is served together with Multi-Grain Rice, French Bean, Cabbage, Carrot, Sayur Kerinting, Organic beancurd, Dry Raddish, Peanut, Pumpkin, Sunflower seeds & Lei Cha Paste. The mint flavour in Simple Life’s Lei Cha Paste is not as overwhelming if compare to other restaurants serving the same dish. )

Nasi Lemak is served together with Multi-Grain Rice, Pumpkin Rendang, Tempeh Rendang, Crispy Mushroom, Peanut, Fried Egg & Acar. The uniqueness of the dish lies in the extra virgin oil & carrot sambal. The sambal was delicious and I requested for extras. My favorite was the ikan bilis its made from mushroom stem)

Upon, finishing our main course and despite being so full, we decided to order desserts and being a “Sweet Tooth” person, we ordered all 3 of the desserts:

All in all, I had an enjoyable meal and this is one experience that I don’t mind to go for again. For more information, log on to http://www.simplelife.com.my/
