Many of my friends are travelling outstation for long holiday weekend trips but I rather avoid the hassle of traffic and crowd. Thus, on my previous long weekend holiday, I booked an impromptu staycation within the city with fun activities for the family.
Guess where I went? I brought my family for a surprise Family City staycation at Pavilion Hotel Kuala Lumpur. I’m sure most of you are aware, Pavilion Hotel KL is located smack at the busy streets of Bukit Bintang and is situated next to Pavilion Mall.
I booked The Family City Stay package which includes daily breakfast for two adults and a child, one btaik inspired soft toy, complimentary extra bed, and shopping experience with the Hotel Guest Rewards programme. The package is still available for bookings and stay from 15 December 2022 until 02 January 2023.
Pavilion Hotel Kuala Lumpur features a total of 325 rooms and suites decked in contemporary and stylish décor. There are several rooms available such as City Oasis, Courtyard Oasis and Grand Oasis room to the exclusive club floors, with the Club City Oasis and Club Grand Oasis and Urban Studio, Urban Suite, Pavilion Suite and last but not least Presidential Suite.
At Pavilion Hotel Kuala Lumpur, they have 3 restaurants namely Jade Pavilion, the signature Cantonese dining, The Courtyard, the hotel’s all-day dining venue and The Cove serving a wide selection of nightcaps.
My Family City Staycation
I booked my family into the City Oasis rooms with connecting room (king + twin). It comes fully equipped with amenities. With the connecting room door, I’m just a few steps away from my boys. The boys get to enjoy their ‘ME time’ in their own room, whilst mommy & daddy have the pleasure of relaxing in our own room.
We also check out the Rangers’ Club located at Level 16. The Ranger’s Club is open only on Fri, Sat & Sunday from 2pm – 5pm. There are specific activities and games arranged by the Rangers, but we missed the timing. For parents who are looking at a place to keep your kids entertained, the Ranger’s Club would be perfect. There’s wide range of games, toys, and movies available to keep them entertained for hours.
At Level 18, there’s the Sky Gym and Rooftop Infinity Pool. The gym is well equipped, and you get to enjoy the stunning views of the city while exercising. Plus, factor the gym is open for 24 hours! My kids and husband prefer to take a dip in the pool enjoying the cooling water watching the vibrant city skyline.

Family Day Buffet Brunch at The Courtyard of Pavilion Hotel Kuala Lumpur only happens on the 1st and 3rd Sunday of each month. We get to enjoy a family day outing with delicious spread of brunch buffet.
For the adults we feasted on roast carvings, grilled meats, fresh seafood and many more. Whilst the kids dig into pastas, omelettes, waffles, pancakes with ice cream and etc. What makes the buffet brunch unique lies in the concept of having fun outdoor activities for kids.
Kids get to enjoyed themselves at the bouncing castle, basketball hoops, mini football goal, video games and fun clown too! My kids had the best time playing all the outdoor activities available, while we get to chillax and enjoy our meal.
