This year I’m going to change my bad habit and try to live a healthier lifestyle. I’ve always wanted to join a fun run and the opportunity came when NIVEA Pearl & Beauty organised the NIVEA Empower Run 2016 last week Sunday. Arriving before the break of dawn, I was surprised to see a huge crowd gathering at Setia City Mall, Oval Field.

With the spirit to empower women, we were given a running kit that includes the NIVEA Pearl & Beauty Deodarant spray, NIVEA Empower Run t-shirt, running bib, goods from Watsons and most importantly a TUTU Skirt! The tutu skirt actually symbolises femininity and to promote women empowerment.

At the starting line, Mr. Ng Hock Guan and Ms. Sharon Yeoh, representative from NIVEA and celebrity Atilia Haron with Eyka Farhana all geared up to flag us off.

When we hear the ‘beep’ we released the NIVEA bio-degradable balloons into the air. This activity symbolises the act of defying all boundaries.

Although everyone was running, I was walking on a fast pace mode and at times running along side with Elana. Reason being I don’t have the required stamina to run all they way (eventhough it’s a measly 5km). Time to start training for my next run 😛

Yes, I finally reached the water station and grab a quick drink of 100 plus and Ice Mountain Mineral Water before moving on.
Upon, reaching the end of the finishing line, I stopped by to check out the Pearl & Beauty Experience. I feel rejuvenated inhaling the empowering freshness of NIVEA Peal & Beauty Deodorant. I was so engross with it that I forgot to take a picture. However, I’m so lucky to have bump into my friend Ketty who joined the run together with her kids. Not to mentioned, at the finisher line there was Elana and Fiona waiting for me as well 😀

Being a part of this run was extremely meaningful as participants indirectly contributed toward helping the poor and needy. NIVEA is donating part of the profits to run a charity organisation ‘For Wisdom & Revolutionary Development (FORWARD)’, which is an NGO helping the needy community by imparting proper training so that they can earn their bread and send their kids for proper educations. Working together, NIVEA and Forward aims to help the needy and free them from poverty!
It was fun to run among the crowd knowing at the same time being we’re helping the needy as well. Here’s us trying to take the perfect jump picture which took us more than 15 minutes of jumping and by then I was totally out of breath! I’m looking forward to joining future run organised by NIVEA Pearl & Beauty deodarant.
