Fresh Japanese Cuisine @ Kokoro Japanese Restaurant, Cheras

Tucked in the busy streets of Cheras is Kokoro Japanese Restaurant which is well known to serve fresh and authentic Japanese cuisine. Walking in the restaurant, you’ll be attracted to the colourful tree filled with multi-coloured lanterns in different sizes and shapes. A contemporary modern decor that features a strong wood element in its design.

Together with my foodie kaki’s we’re here to taste some of Kokoro Japanese Restaurant signature dishes.

Sashi Salmon wih Karashi Dressing (RM 18.90)

This is one of their signature dishes featuring fresh slices of salmon soaked in homemade secret recipe sauce that has a hint of mustard. Indeed an appetising dish, as the salmon absorbs the tangy mustard sauce which elevated the natural flavour of the fresh salmon. Served on the side with cherry tomatoes and fresh green to balance the dish out.

Nasu Hame – RM 13.90

A bowl filled with awesome fresh greens such as brinjal, capsicum, and tomato. It’s stir fried in miso which added a sweet flavour to the dish.

Salt is used to grill the fish head to perfection. Squeeze some lemon juice which elevates the tangy sweet flavour of the fish head salmon. It’ll definitely get you asking for more.

Grilled Pork Belly Don (RM 16.90)

Imagine pork belly that’s grilled to crispy perfection with teriyaki sauce. Topped it with an onsen egg , drizzled with signature sauce and served together with miso soup, salad and fruits. This is one of the best dish I’ve had and it comes highly recommended.

Ebi Ten Don (RM 18.90)

For seafood lovers , you can opt to order this bowl of Don filled with crispy ebi and deep fried tempura drizzled with  sweet teppanyaki sauce.

Seafood with Tofu Dashi Nabe (RM 20.90)

The hearty bowl of nabe is filled with tofu, prawns and also mushroom.  The soup base is made from premium ingredients imported from Japan and it creates an amazing sweet flavour.  It’ served with rice on the side.

Served in a claypot, this bowl of springy udon is filled with prawns, fish meat, enoki mushrooms and black mushroom is certainly delicious. This comes highly recommended as well.

Shitake Miso Soup Cha Soba – RM16.90

Soba submerged and served in pipping hot base miso soup with slices of shitake is divinely refreshing. On the side, it comes together with fried crispy tempura and fresh green salad.

Gyomuyo Matcha Parfait (RM 17.90)

One of the best match parfait I’ve tried in ages.  The matcha is made from premium ice cream and Grokuro green tea powder. Topped it with Kit Kat , soft bread cubes and filled with generous toppings such as nuts and red beans is truly delectable.

It was such a delight to dine at Kokoro Japanese Restaurant. By the way, they serve amazing Yuzu here as well. If you’re nearby the area, do swing by and taste it for yourself.
