I’ve been hearing rave reviews from my friends whenever they dined at Hana Dining & Sakae Bar, Sunway Pyramid. Guess what, so stoked that I’m invited to a food review of their latest Happy Hour Bites Promotion. At Hana Dining & Sakae Bar, they’ve got a separate dining and bar section, which I think is fabulous. Customers who enjoyed a good sakae can have it all out at the bar while catching up on the latest sports news on the TV.
Whilst the customers who prefer a quieter ambience can head straight for the comfy dining area. If you prefer a more private setting or gathering, there are 2 rooms available which can fit approximately 10 – 20 pax. The highlight this round is their Happy Hour Bites Promotion which includes Buy one free one deals for diners to enjoy.
Kick started our review with the Hana’s Tapas Combo where one can select up to 3 assorted dishes from the Classic and Luxury Tapas ala carte menu. The selected Classic Tapas Combo includes Kaisen Shiso Kushi, Gindara Miso Yaki, and the Soft Shell Crab. The soft shell crab is definitely a must have as its quite crispy, while the Gindara Miso Yak tasted good with the juicy marinated meat.
Now, the Luxury Tapas Combo comes complete with Tenshi Ebi, Daikon Foie Gras and Hotate uni Toryufu. The Daikon Foeir Gras was superbly fresh and delicious, whilst the plumpy scallops paired with sea urchin and truffle paste on top of the crispy sheet of seaweed if to die for.
Beautifully plated the Tori Yasai Mushiyaki which is one of the new items in Hana featuring steamed grilled chicken with the vegetable tatar dressing is simply refreshing.
For those who love light and healthy dish, check out out the Kani Sashimi Salad. Filled with greens, crab meat and fresh sashimi is simply tantalising. You can opt to add in the dressing as well.
One of my favourite dish is none other than the Hokkaido Cawanmushi topped with an abundance of ikura and crab meat.
This sushi plate is a definite must try here! The Aburi Anago Maki featured juicy slices of sea conger eel on top of the maki roll and sandwich together with a roll of salmon belly, avocado and mince crab. Awesome!
If you loved mango, go for the Tempura Mango Cheese filled with crisp tempura prawn and mango wrapped in a roll with creamy cheese slice. It’s definitely tangy and my palate was asking for more.
Fans of skewers, try the perfectly barbecued Kushiyaki Moriawase which consist of 6 swekers such as Sukune, Negima, Sasami Ume-shiso, Gyutan and Shitake. Each item is uniquely flavour and simply addictive to chew on.
This bowl of Garlic Rice is extremely delicious. Although a simple dish, the chef manage to give us the perfect bowl of garlic rice. Comes highly recommended.
We ended the night with desserts and order the two best selling ice cream, which are the Matcha Ice Cream and Sesame Ice Cream. Both are equally good.
If you’ve never been to Hana Dining & Sakae Bar, I highly recommend you to give it a try. Their menu features more than 180 dishes that you’ll be spoilt for choice. Another uniqueness that they provide is Omakase set which means you can leave it to Chef Thomas to prepare you a delish meal right on the spot at a certain price. So be prepared for a wonderful dining surprise. I certainly enjoyed my dining experience here and can’t wait to visit again.
