Newly opened less than 4 months, Hazelnut Coffee & Bar is quickly becoming one of the most popular café to grace Bandar Bukit Tinggi, Klang. In tandem with their outlet name, the creative chef at Hazelnut Coffee & Bar introduces several Hazelnut inspired recipes to their dishes and it’s mighty tasty.
The café is easy to spot from the main road with its big brown signage and ample parking space is available here. A huge outdoor area is available to cater to smokers, while indoors exudes a comfy warm ambience. At Hazelnut Coffee & Bar, there is a private seating room where one can book to hold a party that easily accommodates up to 30 pax (on normal days its fully accessible by customers as well)
As usual, we kick start with drinks and ordered the Café Latte, Iced Mint Chocolate and Hazelnut Latte. My recommendation would be the Hazelnut Latte which is not too sweet and Iced Mint Chocolate for the minty flavour isn’t too overpowering.
My first dish was to warmth up the belly with Hazelnut Mushroom Soup and paired together with Garlic Bread. Kudos, to the chef to include roasted hazelnut to create such a flavoursome creamy mushroom soup. The garlic bread is simple amazing, perfectly toast and generously layered with butter. Both comes highly recommended.
Next, we had the Escargot Maison. Café around here doesn’t serve this dish thus this is another uniqueness of Hazelnut Coffee & Bar. There’s 6 perfectly baked burgundy escargots in spices filled with garlic herb, butter and cheese. To make it easier for customers to consume it, the chef has kindly extract the escargot from the shell and plated it beautifully.
We ordered one of the most popular breakfast dish available and it’s the Hazelnut Super Fry Up . You can opt to have scrambled, sunny side up, poached/fried eggs with mixed beans/ baked beans, crispy ham/smoked salmon. The breakfast platter is gorgeously assembled with hash browns, chicken sausages, sautéed mushrooms, roasted tomatoes, lettuce and homemade bun. If you’re a small eater, it’s best to share this as it portion is quite huge.
Another speciality we tried is the Chicken Cordon Bleu. Perfectly deep fried chicken fillet stuffed with ham and swiss cheese coated with a crispy breading. It’s served with mash potatoes, cherry tomatoes and lettuce. The chicken is tender however would have prefer if there’s more oozing layer of swiss cheese.
Hazelnut offers a variety of vegetarian dishes as well. Thus, we ordered the Hazelnut Shrooms. A bowl of al-dente spaghetti tossed with mix of assorted mushrooms, roasted hazelnut and chili flakes. Topped with poached egg was smackingly good. The dish has interesting flavours that make my palate yearns for more. Definitely a ‘Must Try’ here!
We also tried the Hazelnut Fried Rice. Stir fried rice with butter, chicken, egg, long beans, mushroom and topped with roasted hazelnut. This is another ‘Must Try’ dish as the rice is al-dente and not oily. Best part is the roasted hazelnut which added an extra dimension of crunchiness to it.
Finished our meal with dessert and ordered the speciality Hazelnut Torte cake that’s simply divine with its generous toppings of mix assorted nuts, hazelnut and caramelized brown sugar. Being a sweet tooth person this is another ‘Must Try’ winner.
At Hazelnut Coffee & Bar they also provides an extensive list of wines and beers as well. In here, I found the Hoegarden Rosee which is seldom sold in other places. This is a great place for friends and family to chill out together as it operates daily till 12.30am. This place is definitely worth a revisit and I’m glad to have found a new place to hang out with my besties.
