Chinese New Year is just two more weeks away and it’s time to plan for the annual reunion ‘Lou Hei’ with your loved ones. With the current pandemic, dining out might not be an option but fret not as you can now enjoy premium restaurant-grade reunion dinner at the comfort of your own home.
This year we’re looking at a healthier menu option and Purple Cane Tea Restaurant is one of the recommended ones to try. They’re popular for tea-infused dishes that are health-oriented, using all-natural fresh ingredients with no MSG, low fat, low salt and low seasoning. Hence, I am excited to try out the latest offerings for this CNY.
We decided to try the the Flourish Prosperi-tea Bundle Set price at RM338 which is suitable for 3 – 5 pax. By the way, you can enjoy up to 26% OFF for all CNY sets. Discount is applicable for dine in and delivery options. There’s also Free Delivery for selected Klang Valley areas. I will share the free delivery locations at the end of this review *wink*
Health-TeaLicious Abalone Yee Sang (Long Jing)
Let’s start with an auspicious Yee Sang toss. This healthy yee sang is beautifully composed of abalone and fresh colourful vegetables. Drizzled with the generous house specialty tangy passionfruit sauce infused with Long Jing tea. It’s perfect, not too sweet with the right crunch! Truly appetizing.
Take a closer look at the generous amount of abalone in this set. Truly worth it!
Prosperity Vegetable Treasure Pot (Oolong Tea)
You know how we Chinese love money bags, thus Treasure pot is a must have for CNY as it signifies wealth and prosperity. At Purple Cane, we have the vegetarian version featuring crunchy fresh greens, big mushrooms and root vegetables. This dish uniqueness lies in the soup base with is infused with Dong Ding Oolong Tea from Taiwan.
When you take a bite of the “money bag” the flavours just burst forth from the generous filling within. My family love this dish for it is tasty and nourishing.
Steamed Kampung Chicken with Dried Oysters and Fatt Choy (Oolong Tea)
I’m a huge fan of meat and this steamed chicken with dried oysters drenched in thick braised sauce is my favourite. The meat is tender, dip it into the braised sauce and you’ll love the flavoursome taste! The portion is pretty big and there’s fresh vegetables wrapped inside as well. We manage to polish all of it . My family voted this dish as the highlight of the menu.
Fried Tea Rice with XO Sauce in Lotus Leaf (Long Jing)
I’ve never been a huge fan of “rice” but I made an exception for this. This fragrant fluffy XO fried rice is packed with delicious sauce is simply too good! There’s the extra crisp crunchiness with the addition of yam and pumpkin cubes. This dish is highly recommended.
Its really worth to buy the Flourish Prosperi-tea Bundle Set for the portion is huge and the taste is amazing. If you’re opting for takeaway or delivery and worry about your food turning cold. Then, you can be assured as Purple Cane is currently offering FREE Premium Cooler Bag with any takeaway / delivery order of Health-TeaLicious Abalone Yee Sang *while stocks last*
