This year celebrate Bon Odori Food Fair with Cold Storage at New Wing Oval concourse at One Utama Shopping Centre from from 3rd – 6th September. Malaysians can now enjoy over 1,000 items of food products, confectionery and delicacies during this festival fare.

What’s Bon Odori? A traditional festival celebrated in Japan for more than 500 years, Bon Odori is held to honour ancestors with carnival-like celebration that lasts for three days between July and September, within different regions of Japan. Activities include dancing, singing and costume dressing, as well as a variety of popular games from Japan.
At the event, Angus Gore-Andrews, General Manager of Cold Storage Supermarkets shared: “ Each community celebrates their own festivals that come with special food and cultural practices. This year Cold Storage held the Obon or Bon festival to celebrate it together”. During the 5 day event, Malaysian’s visiting the Bon Odori Food Fair can catch activities such as Japanese arts performances and demonstrations on stage. Apart from that, they can also sample some goods fare at the Japanese food booths and refreshments provided.
I personally loved the imported Japanese food products such as rice crackers, candy and cooking ingredients like seaweed, miso and mayonnaise. Not to mentioned, there are special and limited editions items brought in from Hokkaido and Shizuoka as well. Head over to Bon Odori Food Fair with Cold Storage at New Wing Oval concourse at One Utama Shopping Centre this weekend, to purchase your favourite imported Japanese products before it’s over.
