We had our luncheon at Sushi Zamai which is located on Level 2 of Main Place. It was fun to meet and gathered with my blogger friends together with the management of Main Place and Sushi Zanmai. I’ve always been a fan of Sushi Zanmai as their food are always top notch 😀
During the meal, we found out some of the Chinese New Year activities line up at Main Place. Aptly themed “The Joy of Reunion,” Main Place has organised several special activities for mall-goers. One of the highlight programmes would be ‘Count The Golden Eggs’ whereby shoppers have the chance to win goodie bags and shopping vouchers. For this activity, shoppers are invited to count the eggs at the concourse area, where golden eggs will be placed around the giant rooster decorations and baskets. This game was chosen because golden eggs, in Chinese culture symbolise luck, attraction and fertility.
So take a guess where we went after our luncheon? Of course, to the concourse of Main Place to participate in ‘Count The Golden Eggs’, let’s hope I get lucky and win myself some of those amazing prizes!
To spice up your visits even more, Main Place offers other activities such as dough dollmaking workshop and mask painting to let visitors experience something new. These activities are great opportunities for families with children to enjoy Chinese New Year celebrations while learning something about traditional Chinese culture. Apart from ‘Count The Golden Eggs’ contest, visitors can also partakke in the “Chopstick and Beans” game where the participants test their capabilities in holding the beans using nothing but chopsticks. The fastest to finish wins the game and stands a chance to win attractive prizes.
Chinese New Year is not complete without the presence of the God of Prosperity walking around to share some good luck for us to keep for the year. Visitors can also expect a celestial lion dance, accompanied by drum performances and acrobatic shows to fire up the year of the rooster.
