Being a working parents with busy schedule, it’s always hard to find precious time to bond together with our kids. I was extremely stoked to hear that ‘The Parenthood’ – Malaysia’s 1st London Street Family Park is finally opened. We were invited to attend the grand launch last weekend and had such a blast!
‘The Parenthood’ is located on the 2nd floor of Sunway Putra Mall and is the ultimate venue to go as it provides modern-day parenting amenities, services, products and enriching experiences for parents with their children. Upon arrival at ‘The Parenthood’, I was immediately set at ease as it represents a big friendly neighbourhood environment. I spotted some familiar architectures such as Big Ben, the double decker bus, British flags, red post boxes and quaint shops that nestled along yellow-marked tar roads against the backdrop of the English castle – which is a reminiscent of London.
After registering ourselves at the playground counter at My Kingdom playground by The Parenthood, we were provided wristbands that works as a security tag. All the wristbands are embedded with special code, should a kid exit ‘My Kingdom playground by The Parenthood’, security guards will tag their wristbands and it MUST MATCH the adult who is accompanying the child. With this system, parents will feel more comfortable for it lessen the risk of a child exiting with someone else.
After a quick introduction by Mr. Leroy, CEO from ‘The Parenthood’, we were ushered for a tour around the area. The family park comprises 4 major components:
- Relaxation & Leisure – Family fitness room which offers WiO Express’s Power Plate and other fitness props for parents and kids. A Beauty Secret Studio that provides hair care products and services, facial, massage, pedicure and manicure for both parents and kids.
- Educational & play – Activities engaging parents and kids together e.g. workshops, enrichment activities, playground etc.
- Dining – Cafe that serves healthy food
- Shopping – A mini shopping haven for busy mommies to get all their kids’ stuff. Offering 33 retailers brands such as Pigeon, Pureen, Grolier, Faber Castell, Hasbro etc. There will be discount offers from time to time.
This place is definitely a sanctuary for busy parents to have quality bonding time with their kids as it offers enrichment classes from academic to hobbies and sports. The Family Park caters to baby from new-born to 12 years old kids and is fitted with amenities such as toddler area, 2 units of X-Box 360 and party rooms that can accommodate up to 40 children.
My son loved the My Kingdom playground by The Parenthood as it has a play area that has drawing and reading materials. On top of that it offers treasure hunt games, flying fox, spider tower, transparent spiral slide, multiple slides, ball pit tunnels and play bridges. By the way, they’re crews standing by the area to assist the kids in case any emergency situation arises. (Note: Bring along socks for yourself and your family to enter the playground)
While children engage in various fun and educational activities, parents can feel free to join them at any time. Apart from shopping, we can also enjoy pampering services like manicure, pedicure, massage, facial etc. I noted that the café is facing opposite the playground which is equipped with 2 big TV screens capturing the playground area -assuring us that our kids are safely playing inside it.
