Molecular Gastronomic Experience With New MAGNUM’s Ice Cream

Each time I received an invite to MAGNUM’s ice cream launch, my heart just fluttered with anticipation. Reason being, MAGNUM ice cream’s reputation among ice cream lovers around the globe is unarguably one of the best. Luxurious in taste MAGNUM ice cream aims to provide every Pleasure Seeker with the most lavish and sumptuous decadence in chocolate indulgence.

In tandem with the anticipated debut of MAGNUM two new ice-cream flavours – MAGNUM PINK and MAGNUM BLACK, we were invited to an exclusive molecular gastronomic experience at MAGNUM Kuala Lumpur. We kick start the evening with MAGNUM Moodology – a fun mood/personality test that was specially created to help Pleasure Seekers discover their MAGNUM Mood Colour of the Moment. Next, we were introduced to the spectacular art of molecular gastronomy by renowned restaurateur, Chef Isadora Chai. She was inspired by MAGNUM PINK and MAGNUM BLACK’s representation of the different human moods and personalities to create two desserts that beautifully epitomise the traits.  The desserts are paired with classic ingredients such as renowned Belgian chocolate and the new star, Africa’s highly treasured Tanzanian chocolate that is derived from the prized cacaos harvested from Equatorial African soil.

Mr Shawn Tan, Category Head of Ice Cream, Unilever (Malaysia) Holdings Sdn Bhd, shares “Tanzanian Chocolate is an exotic chocolate that originates from Tanzania and are exceptionally well known for their dark chocolate as they give a strong and elegant chocolate taste with some bitterness and a gentle acidity. Belgian Chocolate, as most of us know, is one of the finest chocolate, born to be indulged by the royalties. It is unique due to the quality of ingredients, exclusive production methods and stringent quality controls”.

MAGNUM Pink features ‘Pomegranate Caviar In Belgian Chocolate’ which represents fun and flirty personality. Loved this for its sweet and fruity  flavour definitely brighten my day with just a taste.

MAGNUM Black features ‘Expresso Sorbet with Tanzanian Chocolate’ which represents elegance and sophistication traits. It’s bitter with a tinge of sweetness, perfect to be eaten any time of the day.

After tasting the two new flavoured MAGNUM ice creams, we ended the night with a delicious and intimate dinner.

Available in two distinct colours,  these new MAGNUM’s ice cream will be available in major stores nationwide comes March 2016. Both are carefully crafted to suit the different sides of a person’s personality and projected our mood at different moments in a day.
