Murad Beauty Workshop - See Your Sun Damage

Recently, I was invited to attend a beauty workshop conducted by Murad and the topic was See Your Sun Damage. Being a fair skin person with pigmentation and freckles problem, this topic was certainly a point of interest for me. After registering myself and snapping some photos, I settled in a nice little corner and make myself comfortable.

The event kick start with a brief introduction on Murad by their consultant. She was really charming and kept all of us entertained for the entire duration.

During the event, we learnt that being exposed to the sun for 5 – 7 minutes is enough to caused serious damaged to our skin. To understand better, take a look at the video below:

Long exposure to UV will caused pigmentation disorders and its divided into these 4 major categories:

Melasma – Brown Pigment
Lentigens – Solar Freckles
Hyperpigmentation – Brown Sport
Hypopigmentation – White patches / spots

In the first few stages of pigmentation disorder, frequent usage of skincare with sun shield properties will help to diminish it slightly. However, when your skin has developed hypopigmentation, it’ll be dangerous for it turns cancerous. One of the guests was braved enough to volunteer herself to test out the Murad special UV ray equipment which showcases the damage on our skin due to long term exposure to the sun. The TAR lookalike on the skin is how the sun sees us when we uses sunblock. The other half is exposed to the sun and there’s some light damage. That’s the reason sunblock is so important for it protects us from the harsh UVA/UVB rays.(Tip: Always remember to use eye cream that has UV protection as well as we often neglect the eye area)
