Planning for a fun & safe holiday

Finally, Malaysians are rejoicing nationwide with the lifted interstate travel ban. I’m not saying that you should immediately go for a vacation now without doing a proper planning. As we move into an endemic era, everyone must continue to stay vigilant to protect yourself and family safe from Covid-19. Let’s plan a fun and safe trip for everyone!

My kids miss the beach and so do I. Thus, I’m planning a visit to Port Dickson. I haven’t been there for quite some time and heard there’s many new things to explore. On the top of my list is looking for an accommodation that provides a safe but fun haven for my family. A friend recommended me to hunt for best packages and hotel rates at Traveloka  . After much exploration, I decided to settle on Avillion Port Dickson

Fun Activities for Families at Avillion

At Avillion, there’s tons of fun activities that can be done for families with kids. For the kids, we can bring them for a visit at the Pet Farm, Aviary and Bird Watching. They can also explore outdoors fun such as playing volleyball at the beach, taking a nature walk or learn how to do fishing and crabbing at the resort.

Worry about the adult pool being too big for the boys? Fret not, Avillion has a special kids pool which is only 0.9m deep and is suitable for toddlers too. Lastly, how about letting the kids experience a spa experience but in a fun way. They can choose from massages, hair grooming, manicure, henna body artwork which are supervised and conducted by the resort staff. Doesn’t that sound fantastic?

As for the adults, we can check out the luxurious spa experience, try the water sports activities or adventure rides available. We can also bring the kids out for a visit to Riau Beach to walk at the beach and look at the beautiful Port Dickson sunset. My husband loves to cook; thus, he’s looking forward to visiting the Avillion Spice Farm to see and learn about traditional herbs and spices used for cooking and healing purposes.

Here are some tips, I find useful while planning my holiday trip.

Tips to stay safe for the holidays.

Hotel SOP

One of the upmost importance is understanding the SOP being implemented at the respective hotels. At Avillion, they encourage practicing social distancing and always wearing mask. All guests above 18 years old must be fully vaccinated and show their digital cert before entering the premises. Of course, body temperature is below 37.5 and showing low risk status at the profile too.

Hopping into a ride-share vehicle

Sometimes, when you’re too tired to walk, you’ll request from concierge to prepare a golf cart ride. Before you hop into a ride-share vehicle, bring along a hand sanitizer and antibacterial wipes so that you may disinfect yourself before entering the room. Also remember to wear your mask during the ride. If the driver, offer you a complimentary drink or candies for the kids, it’s not advisable to accept it.

Touring in a vehicle

Another good tip shared by a friend, per say you’re taking a trip to the beach in your car. Designate yourself or a family member who aren’t at high risk to grab snacks, buy gas at the petrol station or even asking for directions. Also keep the windows open to let fresh air in and boost ventilation. However, Malaysia weather might be a tad too warm, thus opt to set the air ventilation or air conditioning to non-recirculation mode.

I hope my stay safe tips can help you out while planning your holiday trips or staycation. I’m looking forward to my year end holiday with the kids!
