This year renowned home grown Malaysian jewellery retail chain store; Poh Kong celebrates its 40th anniversary in style. I was there to join in this festive celebration which was held recently at Shangri-La Hotel. The event celebration was attended by more than 100 guests from Poh Kong’s affiliates, partners, as well as members of the media. Established since 1976, Poh Kong has now become Malaysia’s largest jewellery retain chain store with more than a hundred stores nationwide with its own manufacturing facility in Shah Alam. In 1995, Poh Kong was awarded as the sole licensee of Disney jewellery in Malaysia. Poh Kong later went on to add international brands like Luca Carati, Schoeffel luxury pearl jewellery from Germany as well as popular Italian brand Moraglione 1922.
As we sat down to enjoy our glass of wine paired with fine dining food , a fashion show was held to showcase Poh Kong’s latest collections as well as Raya collection. Poh Kong creations has always been well-known for its exceptional craftsmanship and intricate designs. On this day, the models are adorned in glittering and elegant jewellery collections from Diamond and Gems, Anggun and Tranz for 2016.
The fashion show paid homage to some of the popular unique brands such as Anggun, Tranz, Happy Love and The Art of Auspicious jewellery. Tranz enriches the appeal of gold jewellery through its modern yet classy designs. Happy Love boasts a selection of elegant oriental gold jewellery. Anggun features Asian-inspired designs of floral motifs that replicate the beauty of nature’s flora. The Art of Auspicious Jewellery is a display of well-crafted masterpieces designed with Fengshui elements in mind, symbolizing blessings of good prosperity and longevity.
It was a lovely afternoon and guests were surprised when they announce the lucky draw session. Ten lucky winners will walk away with RM 400 worth of cash voucher each from Poh Kong. *Yes* I was one of the lucky winners!
The afternoon was graced by the presence of Dato’ Eddie Choon, Executive Chairman and Group Managing Director of Poh Kong Holdings Berhad who gave a brief speech and officiated a cake cutting ceremony with the Group’s Directors Francis Cheong, Irene Choon, Gary Chang, Ermin Siow and Datin’ Jennifer Hon and Director Christine Choon to mark this auspicious milestone.
It was definitely a wonderful afternoon and I just can’t wait to go shopping at Poh Kong. If you would like to have more information on Poh Kong, feel free to visit http://www.pohkong.com.my/
