Now, let’s take a look on my porky journey at Lai Ching Yuen. Our very first few dishes are from the ala-carte menu that’s good to be paired with rice.

To kick start, we had Baked Superior Spare Rib In Chinese BBQ Sauce that’s crisp and tender to bite on. Loved the sweetness flavour of the BBQ sauce and can’t stop eating it.

Next, we had Braised Spare Rib “Wu Xi” style accompany with Handmade Mantou. Absolutely delicious and juicy spare ribs. Each bite is filled of rich flavours that burst onto my palate. The Handmade mantou was soft and fluffy, dip in into the sauce and you’ll be asking for more. It would be great if there was more sauce for us to dip in.

The Pan-Fried Black Pepper and Garlic Marinated Pork Chop glazed with caramelized sauce was really divine. Highly recommended.

One of my favourite pork dish of the night is definitely Traditional Bacon and Salted Fish in casserole. The inviting fragrant smell of the salted fish got me salivating me more. Might be a tad too salty for others but I loved every bit of it!

For stewed dishes, I tried the Stewed Home Made Tofu topped with preserved choy sum and minced pork. Smooth and soft tofu perfectly cooked till slightly brown with a tinge of saltiness from the preserved choy sum just go really well with rice.

Also, had the nutritious Stewed Pork Tendon with eggplant and minced port in casserole. Boiled till it achieve a soft and chewy texture, the pork tendon is full of rich flavours. Definitely, recommended to try this!

If you like a bit of spice in your pork dishes, try Wok Fried Roasted Pork Belly with superior soy and chili. The combination of flavour will certainly get you begging for more for each bite is so succulent.

Another hot favourite pork dish for the night is Clay Pot Stewed Spare Rib with sweet taro and creamy coconut milk. The fragrant coconut scent with perfectly succulent spare rib is smackingly good. A ‘Must Try’ dish!
Apart from, dishes to pair with rice. You can also opt to order ala-carte meals on its own.

Try the Barbeque Pork with Honey served on Steamed Jasmine Rice accompanied with fried egg. Each spoonful of rice is rich with an interesting mix of honey and barbeque sauce. Comes highly recommended as well.

For noodle lovers, have a go at the classic Char Siew Wanton Mee with Prawn Dumpling Soup. Springy al-dente noodles coupled with fresh big prawns is a delight to have.

There’s also the Braised Pork Noodle Soup with a Runny Egg on the side. Reminiscences of the Japanese ramen noodles.

The Wok Fried Vermicelli with shredded pork is also another good choice. Loved the springy noodles that’s filled with ‘wok hei’. Definitely ‘Must Try’ dish!
We ended our meal with desserts and had Chilled Mango Pomelo Sago with Durian Puff.
It was certainly a porky feast that night and I enjoyed every single bite of it. The dishes carries a reminiscent of home-cooked pork meals which are simply delightful to have. Gather your family and head over to Lai Ching Yuen, Grand Millennium Kuala Lumpur to try it out for yourself today!
