Remixing Nature Workshop With Strongbow

Strongbow Apple Ciders

Guess what I did on a raining afternoon? Instead of keeping myself at home, I attended a gardening workshop hosted by Strongbow Apple Ciders in collaboration with Eats, Shoots & Roots (ESR). The workshop was held at Bangsar’s eclectic apparel and home decor store, Snackfood.  All of us were there to learn and try our hands at growing herbs and plants using Strongbow Apple Ciders’ cans.

The event ties in with Strongbow Apple Ciders’ philosophy: To be inspired by the cosmopolitan buzz of our vibrant city yet keeping a close connection with nature. In tandem with their philosophy, Strongbow Apple Ciders has collaborated with Eat, Shoots & Roots, a local social enterprise that aims to empower urban individuals and communities with the skills needed to grow their own food, thus building a sense of resilience in our concrete city.

At the event, we learned to plant four different types of herbs namely Thai Basil, Coriander, Spinach and Red Amaranth. Eats, Shoots & Roots (ESR) was so kind to guide us step by step in the planting process. It was truly a fun afternoon.

We also enjoyed a short mixology session by Snackfood, who used the herbs and plants grown in the workshop as part of the cocktails’ ingredients.  There are two variants available for tasting namely Strongbow Gold Apple which is a perfectly balanced, crisp tasting cider which captures a hint of green apple with a long bittersweet finish. Whilst Strongbow Dark Fruit gives a refreshing bite of dark fruit with fruity blackcurrant notes to complement the softness of apples. Both Strongbow Gold Apple and Dark Fruit contains 4.5% alcohol by volume (ABV).

I personally loved the Strongbow Gold Apple taste. For those, who have yet to taste Strongbow, I do recommend giving it a try!
