Finally, a friend recommended I tried the Dim Sum at Royal Canton as the taste are pretty authentic. Hence, I dropped by with my family to try their latest promotion ‘All You-Can-Eat Weekend Dim Sum’.
Royal Canton ‘All You-Can-Eat Weekend Dim Sum’ offers 48 handcrafted dim sum & desserts by Chef Poh and his team. It’s available on Public Holiday, Saturday & Sunday from 10.30am – 2pm. Pricing as below:
- Adult: RM48 nett
- Senior Citizen (60 years & above): RM38 nett
- Kids (3yrs – 8 yrs old): RM28 nett
This is not my first visit to Royal Canton as I had reviewed their October Special Menu earlier. However, I wasn’t aware that they had a Dim Sum Buffet spread until a friend shared with me. This promotion has just kick started and will end in November 2019. Come, see what we ordered….
Specials Dim Sum
We ordered the Xiao Loong Bao and Bacon Wrapped with Enoki Mushroom. The Xiao Loong Bao, is juicy with succulent flavorful meat. Our hot favorite is the Bacon wrapped with Enoki mushroom. It’s simply delicious with a mix of sweetness and juiciness. Upon chewing, the flavors just burst forth! We had more than 2 plates of this!
Steamed Dim Sum
We went a bit gaga over this range as there were so many to choose from. There’s Har Gao (Fresh Shrimp Dumpling), Spare Ribs with Black Fermented Beans, Chicken Feet in Hot & Spicy Abalone Sauce, Fish Ball, Spinach & Shrimp Dumpling, Siew Mai and many more. Definitely must order the Har Gao for the Fresh Shrimp Dumplings has quite a generous filling. The Chicken Feet is another hot favorite for its tenderness and delish sauce.
Deep Fried Dim Sum
Here we ordered Wu Kok (Taro Dumpling with Pork), Fresh Prawns & Beancurd Roll, Salad Prawns Dumpling and Pan Fried Radish Cake. Guess which is our favorite dish from this range? We highly recommend the fresh prawns & salad prawns dish as again we’re pretty amazed with the generous fillings.
Baked Dim Sum
Not to be missed, is the Egg Tart in Puff Pastry. Fluffy soft skin, the egg tarts simply melts in the mouth!
Porridge
Tried the Ting Chai Porridge and Fish Fillet Porridge. The porridge caught us by surprised. The texture was light with a mushy consistency and its filled to brim with ingredients. If you like fresh sweet porridge, go for the Fish Fillet. For those who prefer having squids, pork livers and intestines, then Ting Chai porridge is perfect! We had to stopped ourselves from ordering extra portions of this yummy porridge.
Steamed Rice
You know we Asians love rice right? Thus, we ordered Mushroom, Waxes Meat & Chicken and Chicken Feet in Black Bean Sauce. Both tasted equally good!
Desserts
After having our fill with dim sum, its’ finally time for desserts. Here we ordered Ma Lai Gao, Ginger Sesame Tong Yuen, Red Bean Soup with Tong Yuen & Aged Tangerine Peel, Kui Fa Gao, Guai Ling Gao and Mango Pudding. I highly recommend the Kui Fa Gao which is light and not too sweet. The Red Bean Soup with Tong Yuen & Aged Tangerine Peel is also a good choice. It’s light with a tinge of bittersweet tangerine peel taste. The Tong Yuen are filled with delicious generous black sesame fillings. Last but not least, the Ma Lai Gao deserved a mention for its fluffy and soft.
In Royal Canton ‘All You-Can-Eat Weekend Dim Sum’ menu, there are steamed buns and rice rolls available as well. However, we opted not to order these range as our tummy was too full. It was definitely worth it to bring my family to try the Dim Sum at Royal Canton. By the way, are you aware they offer instant cash back?
