Royal Canton DC Mall @ Diner’s October Special Menu

For those who are looking for a great dining place serving authentic Cantonese dishes, look no further than Royal Canton which is located on the second floor of DC Mall.

Walking into Royal Canton, you’ll find a spacious dining restaurant decorated with a touch of the Chinese heritage that exudes a comfortable vibe. If you prefer privacy, there are separate rooms available. For those who prefer to seat in open area, tables are placed outside with big lanterns giving a romantic feel to it.

Each month, Royal Canton will offer a special menu highlighting several dishes at an affordable price. For the month of October, there’s Peking Duck, Sang Har Mee, Jade Perch, Lala in Superior Soup and many more.

Together with my family, we decided to try some of the dishes from the special menu.

Peking Duck (Serve in 2 ways (RM88) / 3 Ways Serving (RM98)

One of my favourite dish for the night is the Peking Duck. Crispy skin that’s served separately with hoisin and plum sauce. Wrap the duck skin with pancake and garnish with spring onions and crunchy greens, the rich flavors simply burst forth!

There’s no wastage for the slow-roasted meat can be served in in either 2 or 3 ways. For us, we opted 2 ways and had the succulent meat in Stir Fried with Ginger and Onion sauce style.

Sang Har Mee – RM68

Sang Har Mee is a favorite delicacy among seafood lovers. At Royal Canton, the dish featured a large beautiful prawn atop a bed of crispy-fried noodles drenched with an eggy sauce. My kids loved this dish.

Jade Perch steamed with spicy bean sauces– RM58

Jade Perch is best cooked in steam method. The best way to have Jade Perch at Royal Canton is to steam it with spicy bean sauces. This fragrant dish carries a hint of sweetness and spiciness. The fish flesh was soft and it was a delight to eat it. Remember to eat the fish with generous toppings of spicy bean sauce gravy which truly will elevates your taste bud.

We also ordered some dishes from the ala-carte menu as well.

Boiled Soup – RM18 per bowl

Keep our stomach warm on a cold day, we decided to order 3 different types of boiled soup. Those who prefer spice peppery taste go for the Kampot Pepper with Pig Stomach Soup. If you like to entice your taste bud with chili spiciness then Sze Chuan Hot & Sour Broth is the best. For those who prefer something light and fresh then opt for Seafood & Tofu Broth.

Assorted Nuts & Organic Greens, Stir Fried – RM48 (Medium)

This dish got thumbs up from all of us. Fresh organic greens such as celery asparagus, lotus roots and stir fried with assorted nuts (mainly cashews) are to die for. The greens are sweet and the nuts add a touch of crunchiness to it. Simply a perfect combo!

Pepper & Salted Egg Fried Squid

The last dish of the night was Pepper & Salted Egg Fried Squid. The fried squids texture was chewy and coupled with the pepper and salted egg coated skin, tasted pretty good.
