Wedding is a once in a lifetime experience and everyone hope for an unforgettable day. Let’s celebrate your wedding at Intercontinental @ Kuala Lumpur, where the hotel’s creative wedding planning team can help to personalize and customize your dream wedding to fit to your budget. For those, who are looking for a intimate and modest wedding reception, you may consider holding it at Tao Chinese Cuisine.
Tao houses six private rooms which can be utilised by guests for all kind of purposes including the Chinese Tea ceremony with the family.
Exclusively prepared by executive Chinese and Red Majesti chef Wong Lian You’s, who has 15 years of experience under his belt; be prepared to be dazzled by the vivid seasonal flavours and ingredients of the wedding menu. Accommodating up to 100 pax, Tao Offers two menu options for guests to select including eight course (RM288.80 nett per table of ten persons) and six course (RM388.80 nett per person).
Today, we’re having the six course menu course (RM388.80 nett per person).
Kick start with an appetiser – “Tao” Gourmet Combination Platter featuring oyster laden with fruity pineapple confit, smoked duck and deep fried mushroom. Started with sweet and end with savoury, such a delight to have.
Followed by soup, Braised North Canadian Lobster Claw with Bird’s Nest, Fish Maw in Golden Broth that was rich and creamy. Each scoop is just heavenly.
For main course, the first dish was Crispy Cod with Fruit Mayonnaise Dressing in Yam Ring. The fish was tender on the inside and crisp on the outside. Pairing yam ring with fruit mayonnaise is certainly creative.
Next on the main course was Braised Australian Five Head Abalone, Morel Mushroom Dumplings and Farm Greens. The abalone was perfectly braised and is tender to chew on, wish I had more of that.
We also had Kai Lan Ginger Fried Rice with Crabmeat Glaze. See the generously laden crabmeat sauce on top of the fried rice got me salivating. Rich with a distinctive taste and a hint of gingery spiciness, this plate of rice is superbly tasty.
Finally, its dessert time and we have the Chilled Peach Gum, Pear, Snow Fungus with Red Date Syrup. Paired with Assorted Sweetened Chinese Pastries. Truly scrumptious and delicious!
Throughout our meal, we had Tao’s Black Tea and free flow champagne to pair with our dishes. On top of that, there was also a special fashion show held by Keith Kee showcasing his latest wedding collection.
To those who prefer a more grandeur wedding banquet can opt for the hotel’s pillarless Grand Ballroom that’s able to accommodate 700 guests, while the Junior Ballroom can cater up to 210 guests and there’s also eight separate functions rooms for smaller ceremonial gatherings of 30 – 70 pax.
