Brew & Bread Café is one of the pioneer cafes in Kota Kemuning, Shah Alam area. The café started operations 5 years ago before hippie cafes bloom in that area. Recently, I went together with a couple of friends for a café hopping session.

Walking into the café, the first thing that attracted me was the Roastery, where customers can watch and smell the wonderful aroma of coffee beans being roasted. Inside the café, there’s also a pastry corner fill with freshly baked breads. Brew & Bread’s ambience resonate a warmth neighbourhood café where one can relax comfortably. The coffee here are highly recommended by the customers as it’s specially roasted and blended by their barista. (psst: The barista was invited as a judge for Malaysia’s Brewers Cup 2015 and Malaysia Barista Championship 2015 *wow*)
Here are some of the F&B, I’ve tried at Brew & Bread Café. For drinks, I ordered the Americano and Latte. My friend love the Americano for its strong rich coffee flavour and I certainly dig my cup of Latte 😎 . The coffee comes with a note describing its ingredient as well.
Next, we had a bowl of soup to warmth our stomach and ordered the Cream of Mushroom. This double boil mushroom soup is smooth and creamy, just the way I like it. Highly recommended as well.

Following dish, we had Eggs Waldorf served with poached eggs, wild mushrooms, B&B Hollandaise sauce, fresh fruits, ciabatta and roma tomatoes. Definitely, ‘Must Try’ the eggs were perfectly poached with runny yolks. Using special B&B Hollandaise sauce combine together with marinated roma tomatoes was really appetizing.
We ordered sandwiches as well on that day. Firstly, was the Jamaican Chicken served with diced chicken, lettuce, apple slices, compote and blended with fresh tomatoes paste in ciabatta. The chicken was juicy and well marinated with B&B unique sauces. Using apple slices increases the sweetness of the sandwich making each bite a refreshing munch.

Also tried the Chili Crab sandwich which is filled with crab fillet, house made hot sauce, lettuce, sweet neem leaves in ciabatta. This sandwich reminds me of the ‘Kam Heong’ Chili Crabs in the seafood restaurant, full of ‘wok hei’ taste. Absolutely ‘Must Try’ dish!

Next, dish was Fettucine Pesto served with sweet peas, toasted walnut, diced chicken, wild mushrooms, XV olive oil, parmesan in basil and parsley blend. The spaghetti was al-dente and the pesto taste is not overwhelming with generous parmesan toppings. I loved the taste of the wild mushrooms which is sweet and chewy.

There is a variety of cakes at Brew & Bread and I opted for Marble Cheesecake.

Brew & Bread provides great food at an affordable price. Currently, the café is going through some refurbishment and expansion plans to serve their customers better. Heard there will be a new menu launching soon as well and I can’t help but look forward to it on my next visit!
